New to Who

There's a big bad on the other side of the wormhole who once they arrive will be responsible little arcs, big arcs, season arcs, and series arcs. Everything becomes a lot more faster and harder, except when it isn't because Dax contractually insists on an episode where she falls in love with some idiot who will never be seen again.

This Phantom Menace shows up in the last episode of season two.

A lot of innocent people meaning no kind, die quickly.

Good times.

But what if the two actors have really different body types? The clothes have to be somewhat accommodating.
The idea is for you to notice the ill-fittingness, so, you can appreciate how different they actually are in body size and shape, to better drive home Regeneration changes everything.

You know how men act like the world is ending every time they stub their toe?

(The Doctor used to travel with a Timelady)

I always liked Romana. She's a good concept for the Doctor and Companion. Both can regenerate, so even if the actor or actress wants to leave, you can just recast, regenerate, and continue onwards like (almost) nothing actually happened.

Well I know two things about the next two-parter: Are you my mummy? And the introduction of Captain Jack.

Update:

Creepy. Probably the most creepy episode out of the entire 8 series. But it was really good. The ending was lovely.

It wasn't that I didn't like Nine, I just didn't like the first batch of episodes. He seems like a pretty cool guy. I'd be okay with travelling with him.

Update:

Well I did it. I watched all 8 of them. Now I'm all caught up. Now I'm a little sad that I'm all caught up. Weird.

No you're not.

Torchwood, and then the Sarah Jane Adventures.

Do you have access to children?

SJA is made for 7 to 11 year olds, it might be nice to share the experience, but after you've been watching it for awhile, you start to forget the limits of children's programming, and expect some of the stable characters to be capable of heading out on a slaughter spree and defend the line by any means necessary.

And then there's the episode where Clyde is hiding K9 under his desk at school to help him cheat on a math quiz.

:vulcan:  :wtf:

No I don't but I suppose I could bribe some neighbourhood kids with candy. Oh wait. Bad idea. Bad bad idea!

I'm not really in the mood to watch any of the spinoffs right now. I'm going to give DS9 a second try.

I kind of wish Nine had stayed for series 2.

I think so, but in a few weeks we can welcome JG in the regular episode discussions of season 9.

I'll be there:) And you never know, in a month or two I might start a Torchwood thread.

But for now I'm good. I'm really hoping my second go round with DS9 is successful because I keep hearing about how great it is, and I'd hate to be part of another minority.

Oh and I haven't been on the series 9 spoilers thread because for the first time, I really want to go in fairly blind and be surprised. I only know that Missy is back and the appearance of the little girl. I've seen the two trailers and they look really good.

I think you will enjoy DS9.

It is a totally different beast that DW of course and it does something no other trek series does, it takes the best bits of TOS and TNg and adds it's own flavor on top.

Esspecially the first 2 seasons are extremely underrated by many.
I wasn't a big fan of the pilot back when it aired (and I was 15). I was bored by it, but that changed when I went back to the show years later. Today i consider it the best Trek pilot of them all.
First couple of seasons still has it's duds but the character development is leaps and bounds better than any other Trek show.
And going back to the beginning at some point after you saw the whole show makes you appreciate that early time more (same as DW in that regard) ;)

Well I gave TOS a second chance and ended up liking it so here's hoping...

DW is now added to my small list of TV shows that ruined my life (in a good way) :)
