I predict this poll will actually grade it fairly high. Of course, I base that prediction on the fact that nobody but Dennis will actually see it. ;)

Is there a post and/or mid credit scene?

I don't know if I can even be bothered seeing the actual movie, nevermind sitting through the credits afer.

As far as I am aware, there are no mid-or post-credit scenes.

Does Fox ever do mid- or post- credit scenes?

At least two of the X-men films have them off the top of my head - The Wolverine and X-men: DOFP.

^ They started it really, with X-Men: The Last Stand. 2006, two years before Iron Man.
Also one for Origins: Wolverine (they were two alternate ones actually, one of Deadpool's head and one of Logan in the Japanese bar)

I'm just hoping it won't butt-rape my childhood as thoroughly as the first two movies. I'm already nonplussed that they felt it necessary to make all the characters Johnny-style young hotheads.

I am very curious to see how this actually does, and what kind of reaction it gets from fans. There are a lot of movies the critics have hated that still got a pretty good reaction from the public.

The Review over at Blu-ray.com only gave it 3 out of 10. (1.5 stars out of 5) Said that the plot was kind of a hot mess. But I don't ever put too much faith in Reviews like that.

Only problem is that every single review I've seen says the same thing - one of the underlying comments is that it seems to be two films mashed together badly - the film Trank wanted to make and the film the studio wanted to make.

I was looking forward to this - I was certainly expecting it to exceed the generally low expectations people had for it. Unfortunately, it didn't.

I didn't like Miles Tellar or Jamie Bell but not to the extent that they spoiled the movie. It did that all by itself. It wasn't a complete turkey (it wasn't that interesting), but it was dull, terribly uninspired and utterly joyless.

The film was pretty grey both in tone and colour scheme. It was hard to relate to the characters and the plot failed to involve - couple that with some suspect C.G. and you aren't exactly looking at a hit movie.

The effects were a real surprise. The 'planet' didn't seem well realised - unconvincing and lacking sharpness. The Torch also didn't come over well - the flying sequences looked like a red flme poorly rendered and superimposed badly on the sky - it didn't look like they belonged together. Close-ups of the Torch were variable - some shots were O.K., some just looked badly animated.

Doom - Doom was awful. Despite a decent performance from Toby Kebbell, he looked ridiculous. The head was bulbous and overlarge. The effect was of a slightly melted action figure. Scary...

Overall, it was a five or (being generous) six out of ten. It's hard to see where they go from here - I can see three options :

    1. Hand the rights back to Marvel (who could do with Galactus, the Surfer and the Skrulls too) to do it properly.

    2. Do a 'Sony' and keep the rights but hand the creative side back to Marvel.

    3. Hand the sequel to Brian Singer who knows how to make a superhero film. A truly great follow-up could rescue the series.

Due to the friction between Fox and Marvel, 1. and 2. seem unlikely, so I'd say Singer is in the frame for F.F.2...

It does seem that the reshoots left the film highlt unpolished. It certainly explains why they dropped the 3D at the last minute. Well that and the fact there's almost no action in it.

Now that we have a spoiler thread and some people who've seen it, I'm most curious to know what they did with Doom in this film. Did they get him any more "right" than the Story films? Spoil me away, in a box if you feel the need.

Also, I saw something in a review that seemed to indicate that...
...Sue wasn't present for whatever gave the team their powers, and Doom was...what's up with that?

Which is somewhat ironic cause the Edgar Wright camp was banking on Ant-Man having this feel and while we could point to some possible Wright moments the film still feels like a whole and isn't disjointed like we are hearing with the Trank shots vs reshoots meshed together.

I have read it is better than the other F4 movies but not great and better than Transformers 4. :rommie: Yet it is a fail?

ETA: I think fans have wanted this to fail so it can go back to Marvel or whatever and it isn't about this movie but I never have understood why people hope for something to fail, it is like hoping for failure in your own life. :(
