I have read it is better than the other F4 movies but not great and better than Transformers 4. :rommie: Yet it is a fail?

ETA: I think fans have wanted this to fail so it can go back to Marvel or whatever and it isn't about this movie but I never have understood why people hope for something to fail, it is like hoping for failure in your own life. :(

Wait. Did you just really try to defend this movie by saying it's better than a Michael Bay movie ?

I am not defending anything I am just going by what I read/saw today. :rommie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2jbcnVG7n8 but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBDWLETsDxU Grace seems to think it isn't a total stinker!

I have to be honest I liked the 2 Transformers that everyone hated 2 & 4. :bolian:

Wow, Trank has disowned this already.

Now that we have a spoiler thread and some people who've seen it, I'm most curious to know what they did with Doom in this film. Did they get him any more "right" than the Story films? Spoil me away, in a box if you feel the need.

Even less like the real Doom than last time.

Much less.

It'd be nice to see a straight take on Doom and Luthor on the big screen at least once.

Great article from the "Observation Deck" blog, "How to Make a Fantastic Four Movie". Pretty much nails it.

I agree with what it and a lot of other things are saying -- that the origin is the least interesting part of the Fantastic Four's story. What matters is not how they got their powers, but what they do with them and how they lead their lives as a superpowered celebrity adventurer family. Which is probably why I like Rise of the Silver Surfer better than the '05 movie -- it's the only FF movie that isn't an origin story.

Eh, I'm betting that a Trank controlled version of the movie without interference wouldn't have set the world on fire either, although from reviews of the movie I doubt it would have been worse.

Clicked on the link and got:

Did he close his twitter account?

Trank deleted the post 5 minutes after putting it up. But major news sites like Deadline and Variety have picked up on the story.

No posts from today though... hmmm

I'm not an expert on Twitter but is it normal for the two post images to have different times?

I'm assuming it's different time zones.

Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckmann hated it.

What an asinine comment to post. Nobody forced him to take the job and he should have been less naive about the studio's expectations. He wasn't making an art film.

Wheadon managed to do two excellent films despite numerous restrictions and expectations from the studio.

PS: I've read and watched the reviews now. This is like watching a train wreck. It's horrible but I can't look away.

I'm thinking the same. Maybe it would have been more consistant (based on what I've heard), but it sounds like it still would have been a pretty big, "Eh" either way.

Bland and humorless are pretty much the two worst things you can do to the FF.

^ They started it really, with X-Men: The Last Stand. 2006, two years before Iron Man.
At least three years before X3, actually. Daredevil had one too.

Somewhere, Adam Sandler is breathing a sigh of relief, knowing he doesn't have to worry about sweeping the Golden Raspberries for once
