Shit, son, when's that stopped anyone from expressing extreme fanboi-rage 2 years before something is due for release?

I really don't understand this incessant need of some people to find ways to diminish or explain away the extraordinarily fine quality of Axanar.
Quality is in the eye of the beholder. But quality shouldn't even be mentioned yet, because we haven't seen the fucking movie!![]()

Do you have any reason to believe that the quality is going to suddenly drop from what has been show thus far?

does seem odd that those that presume the quality will drop for no reason are the same people who claim not to be negative.

We haven't seen the movie yet. Here's the thing: part of the reason Prelude... works is because it is played as a historical interview piece. Something that we hadn't seen in Star Trek up to that point. Just people sitting around talking about prior events in an historical context. Which is pretty cool. I give them a big thumbs up for that.
Now, the next piece will be a more traditional narrative and, quite frankly, I have no idea if they can pull it off. The short has me less excited about Axanar now than I was after Prelude...
So I honestly have no idea how Axanar will play when completed.
YMMV.

Yes, Terry. This is how this board is. At times it has been worse. So, since I've only been a very rare visitor to this site before recently, can I ask -- is it usually a Kindercare of petty bickering and general butthurt around these parts? I'm asking sincerely, because, for obvious reasons, this is how some of the recent exchanges are appearing to this admitted n00b. No offense...

To be fair, there are a few threads produced, mostly by Maurice, that I consider among the most helpful threads or discussions for fan filmmakers anywhere on the net.
I include those thread on my list of links helpful to new fan filmmakers (most of whom, unlike Axanar, are not working out of the film capital of the world with experienced professionals.) I'm not sure how many people actually read the links in my collection, but I have been thanked for collecting them.

Oh, and some fan filmmakers post their releases here, but not on the fan film groups on Facebook. So I hang out here primarily to catch those releases.

I see criticisms like this leveled at the board on occasion, but honestly compared to much of the acrimony apparent on so much of the internet what's here seems pretty tame. Our moderators tend to be pretty hands-off, whereas on some message boards—especially those actually moderated by fan productions—are heavily moderated and there's a lot of deleting of critical or hotly argumentative posts. Just look at the comments on Trekmovie to see how extreme it can actually get when totally unmoderated.

Who has said the quality is going to drop? I said I don't know and gave my reasons for my uncertainty.
Reading comprehension is a serious issue in this thread.

People can have good reasons for not just assuming the a movies quality is represented by a trailer. I mean, they have a very well established history of:
-Overselling (Emmerich's Godzilla)
-underselling (Thor)
-misrepresenting (August Osage County)
-spoiling anything worth watching (Terminator 5).
But 'not judging a book by its cover', is not the same thing as somone 'assuming the quality will drop'. I've read the prerelease snippets of 'The Winds of Winter' and I have no doubt that they wont represent full content the finished novel. Doesn't mean I'm not chomping at the bit for it to hurry up and come out already!
