What Do You Want To See? Star Trek Beyond

Less Carol Marcus Whatever
Much Less Uhura Kissy-Face with Spock
(do NOT know why, but it makes my skin crawl)
More Scotty ("...can I get a towel...") Humor
Lots of nuChekov
Loads of Enterprise shots
No Stupid Evil-Cabal-Within-Starfleet plot lines
Let's Skip Time Travel on this one

Finally, I am honestly not sure how I feel about the PrimeTimeLine. Restore? Don't Restore? Logic says it is much too late and unnecessary. My Fossil Attachment and First Imprinting tell me "restore". How about they leave it alone, and continue and see what happens and if the nuFranchise has long legs or not.

I'd like an original story but heavy enough on continuity references to classic Star Trek. For example, they could introduce shipboard positions which haven't been covered in the last two movies. I would probably be satisfied to see Abramsverse versions of Shiboline M'Ress, Arex na Eth, Vincent DeSalle, Barry Giotto, Carolyn Palamas, etc. in the movie even if they did nothing related to their classic appearances.

I want Sulu to get a decent role in the story.

I want at least a few good forward shots of the Enterprise with nothing else in the background.

I want to see something of a relationship between Kirk and Carol Marcus.

I want some decent technobabble. Not as much like TNG but maybe reminiscent of Interstellar.

I want Chris Doohan's transporter operator back as well as Hendorff/Cupcake.

No lens flares.

No cheap MacGuffins like Khan's superblood.

The blood wasn't a Macguffin. Its not a plot motivator or goal.

One might be tempted to call it a deus ex machina, but since it's properties were introduced at the film's start it doesn't count as that either.

It might just be a plot element some people didn't like.

Yeah it definitely would be out of place anywhere else in the film, but the credits make perfect sense. A little more variation a la Goldsmith might be neat but I'm sure for some people it's the only thing recognizably TOS in the movie.

But, it was in darkness, so it counts.

Also, it has a +5 melee bonus.

An ending that restores the Prime Universe
This again? Seriously?

There's nothing to restore, Prime Universe is still there. It's just unlikely that we'll visit it so soon again. Or... Ever. Which sucks, because, I want to see what happened there after Romulus got fucked up.

I think you'll find that was Isolinear that said that...
Fixed.

Do be more careful, Mach5.

Wouldnt mind seeing Alice Eve naked or damn near.

Um...no...

try again?
Friend HIjol,

There's no need to impose one's will. The way you've framed it, it sounds as if you're telling anyone who appreciates Alice Eve (and I certainly am one who does) "no, you're wrong! Do not mention it again!"

Different folk like or dislike things about Star Trek. It doesn't make them right or wrong.

Respectfully,

No cheap MacGuffins like Khan's superblood.
Death is cured now, so long as the have super-humans to bleed dry, so it kind of eliminates any sense of danger or risk for the Enterprise crew.
Also, Starships are now kinda obsolete and unnecessary thanks to the "transwarp beaming" thingy.

Also, sleeping quarters on ships are unnecessary too now, because the crew can just beam back home at the end of every shift.

Death and starships being obsolete should've happened in the Prime universe as well. Transporters should be able to fix any ailment ("Unnatural Selection") and long range transporters were used as well ("Bloodlines").

So what's the problem again?
