SHIELD doesn't exist, does Phil Coulson know that? And really you could see the beginnings of a relationship between Nat and Bruce in the first Avengers movie, Joss Whedon hadn't had a chance to work in it bewteen the two movies.

Or other big players like soon to be murdered US Senators giving press conferences in the AoS universe which is supposed to be part of the AoU greater MCUniverse.

I think we have the case of a big name Director refusing to accept that he was the equivalent of an episode director during the run of Buffy or Angel.

Joss is going the write the characters his way just as the other writers are going to write the characters their way. Joss loves tragic love affairs and really Nat and Bruce's relationship fits that description. In the Avengers movies Nat has a terrible past taht she seems to be running away from much like Banner, but in the Captain America movie she's tough but vulnerable, she was a manipulator in Iron Man 2.

In the old days, they had an "Intermission" card for the audience to take a break. Today, there are no longer Intermissions. Instead, scenes like the one at the Safe House in the middle have replaced it. The part where there's no action, random stroking of egos among characters, while I go off and take a quick bathroom to ensure I don't miss out on any cool ass-kicking or story development.
I have to disagree here. Those scenes are just as important to movies, as the big action scenes, and scenes with big story developments. Those scenes are there so we can get some moments to build the characters. We need those scenes in order to invest in the characters, and to care about what happens to the characters in the end.

I'd also point out, Godfather part 2 has an intermission, but it's a two and a half hour movie. Avengers: Age of Ultron is basically a two hour movie. They expect you to go right before the movie starts and not have to leave in the middle.

Wondering if we have anyone from Johannesburg here who'd be willing to point out the landmarks seen on-camera? Or if someone's done an article on the subject?

I just saw the movie for a second time today, and my minor nitpits completely fell away for me. It flowed and worked much better on a second viewing. While it's not as bright and fun as the first movie, I think it's a great movie that miraculously balanced about 20 different characters while managing to tell a great story with some amazing action scenes. It's amazing how many great action gags are tossed into this one, far surpassing the first movie's collection. The use of Cap's shield was particularly cool.

After I saw the movie I posted on my facebook page that this is exactly what I want out of my comic book movies, and I still hold that opinion.

I get that a lot of people want more substance, or they want a more mature outlook. That's cool, there are plenty of movies out there like that, notably the DCU that's starting, or the non-Marvel produced Marvel films. But for me, I am so loving the MCU right now, ti's comic book Nirvana for me.

I just read Infinity Gauntlet/War/Crusade. Is it just me, or are they giving the Adam Warlock storyline to the Vision for the movies? Warlock wore the Gem on his forehead not Vision. I haven't read many comics with the Vision in them, but Vision's character and the dialogue in the movie seemed to be Adam Warlock dialogue from the comics.

Glad to hear, planning on a second viewing this weekend.

I was wondering the exact same thing :)

Aside from them both having gems (different gems, though, fwiw), I don't think they're all that similar.

However, more importantly, Marvel has shown a tendency to only loosely adapt stories. Their most faithful story was probably Extremis and it certainly was a loose adaptation. All reports about Civil War suggest it's very different as well. There's no reason to think there's an Adam Warlock storyline at all.

Adam Warlock's cocoon was in the Collector's vault in Guardians of the Galaxy ;)

And the 1940ies Human Torch was in the background in a scene in 'Captain America: The First Avenger'; but unlike The Vision in the comics; it wasn't a part of the Vision's creation in AoU.

IE - 'Easter eggs' in the MCU don't seem to have much of a bearing on storylines it seems.

They've since altered the Vision's origin in the comics toexclude the Human Torch. But it's still possible that Adam Warlock will play a part in things, the soul gem is still out there.

Intermissions wouldn't be a bad idea.

If someone can't sit still and watch a movie for 2-3 hours then they have some serious problems. Intermissions belong where they are, in the past. There's no need to break things up, stall the momentum of the movie, tie up the time the theater room is in use (reducing the number of screenings per day, meaning fewer showings per day, meaning higher ticket prices and/or higher concession prices) with intermissions.

Sit there for a couple hours, three at most. Almost 3 and a half and Peter Jackson's absolute worst, and watch the movie. If you need to pee, get something to drink or eat, just go do it.

Intermissions would just make the movie-viewing experience a lot more of a hassle than it already is not just for viewers but for theaters and their staff. Most major theaters these days likely have over a dozen screens, theater I go to all of the time has 30! Can you imagine the planning nightmare there'd have to be to make sure intermissions don't overlap? Because if they do you cause a crowd in the concessions area and not everyone is going to get back to their seat in time for the movie. Couple this with people already in the concessions area at the *start* of their movie and you've got a mess. Meaning you need more clerks to man the registers. More clerks. More cost. More cost. Higher ticket/concession prices.

There's very little practical ways intermissions can work with the way movies and theaters are these days. And, again, do you really need to a break from sitting there and watching a movie for a couple hours?

I'm just thinking that since Infinity War is an Avengers movie, it makes more sense to have an Avenger save the day.

You don't have kids, or any medical issues that might preclude you sitting in one spot for 3 hours, do you? Stick around. If you're lucky you'll get there.

Being Type One Diabetic, I need to keep an eye on my sugars, sometimes they'll rise for what ever reason and I'll need to go for a piss like when I saw AoU, I just got up and went to the WC. The need for an intermission or bringing them back for a handful of people is a stupid idea.

So which one do you have then, Children or a Medical condition?
