I'm doing a rewatch of DS9 and my love of Garak has been rekindled. I'm curious, what are some of the better books to feature Cardassians heavily in the DS9 or other lines of novels. I know Andrew Robinson himself wrote A Stitch in Time and there's the Cardassian character in the Titan series, but the DS9 line proper has been too daunting for me to dive into up till now. So I'm curious if there's any other Cardassian and/or Garak fans who're willing to offer up some best of the best recommendations for all things Cardassian in the various novel series. Well, the obvious choices for books featuring Cardassians and/or Garak are any by Una McCormack. She's not the only one to have written on either subject, but she certainly is the go to gal. Those would be The Lotus Flower (part of WoDS9 bk 1), The Never-Ending Sacrifice and The Crimson Shadow. Spoilers at those links btw. .
The Neverending Sacrifice actually features Rugal, the Cardassian boy who was raised by Bajorans. One of the best novels ever. Enjoy it!. Una McCormack´s Hollow Men feature Sisko and Garak. Give it a shot.
Yeah, the above - A Stitch in Time, The Lotus Flower and The Never-ending Sacrifice -are some of the best pieces of Trek lit, as well as being about Cardassia. I'd add the following - after you read the above. - Plagues of Night (2382) (Typhon Pact 5/7) - Brinkmanship (2383) (Typhon Pact 7/7) - Revelation and Dust (2385) (The Fall 1/5) - The Crimson Shadow (2385) (The Fall 2/5) - The Missing (2385) (Deep Space Nine, post The Fall) The full DS9 relaunch of course deals with Cardassia repeatedly, including Illiana Ghemor and having Gul Macet from ''The Wounded'' (TNG) as a key character. Really, I'd recommend delving into it fully! You can get a taster by beginning the first volumes of the DS9R via googlebooks preview.
I'll put in another vote for The Never-Ending Sacrifice. Not just a great Star Trek novel, but a great science fiction novel in general. As mentioned, it focuses on Rugal, the Cardassian boy introduced in the second season episode "Cardassians." McCormack uses his story to show us what's going on in Cardassian society from the second season of DS9 on through the first year or so after the series ends. Great characters, great story, and a deep examination of Cardassian culture. Not to be missed!
Another great piece: Day of the Vipers by James Swallow. It's the only Terok Nor novel I've read, but it is absolutely amazing.
This. I am in the middle of the second of the Terok Nor series Night of the Wolves. So far, it's alright. I'll have to put another vote for A Stitch in Time.
I don't think we can heap enough praise on The Never Ending Sacrafice. Easily one of the top ten Trek novels of the last decade.
I would recommend all the Terok Nor novels. In all of them we learn more about notorious Cardassians.

I'd like to be self-indulgent and also mention The Art of the Impossible, which has lots of Cardassian niftiness.
Don't worry, Keith. I have all the Lost Era books. That's easily one of my favorite novel... sets. Great era to explore. Wish there were many more books set in that gap. *nudge* *nudge*
