Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

Kirk55555, you do realize that you can have characters disagree with "the good guys" without being "bad guys", right? Because right now that seems to be a concept that you are struggling with.
Do you ever watch shows like The Sopranos where the "good guys" are "bad guys"? Because it is possible for people to be "good guys" even if they do things we don't like.

Just like Tango and Cash hated each other in the beginning of their movie.

(Okay, sorry I'll stop it.)

NotNightcrawler isn't the boss?

I could be misreading the line, but I took "that's not for me to decide" to mean he answers to someone else. Sky's mother would be the obvious choice (I mean why not; she had Wolverine's rate of ageing, why not his healing factor too?) But it could just be an Inhuman we haven't seen yet...or a still living ancient Kree.

Thankyou. :)

I don't think even Wolverine can survive being dissected and having his organs in jars, but maybe she's better at healing than that?

That makes me wonder if one of these super healling people were chopped in half, would both halves grow back?

If Woverine needs help, can he volntarily visit a saw mill and have two of him?

If he needs lots of help, can he jump into a wood chipper?

Happened to Deadpool (Deadpool 46 (2012)).

A psycho kept buying parts on ebay, storing them in her kitchen fridge until she had a full set enough to build her own.

Wolverine can regenerate from a single cell, duh.

If that were so, there'd be millions of Wolverines forming from all the skin cells etc. he shedded over the course of a day. He'd also have runaway cancer in every organ in his body.

The one time I'm aware of that he regenerated from almost nothing, it was under the influence of an alien crystal of enormous power, which amped up his healing factor to an extreme degree. Later writers did tend to amp his healing factor up to an extreme degree, but I don't think it went quite that far.

Yup. And furthermore, that scene featured Wolverine dying after getting his heart ripped out by the bad guy. It was not written as a survivable injury for him. He just got lucky because a drop of blood splashed on the crystal at the same time.

I've gotta wonder why his body grew back with the adamantium still in it, though. Need to go back and re-read that annual.

Well, we have no evidence that Gonzales's group are "good guys". Let's ignore for a second that we have not seen one government organization in the MCU be "good guys" (I guess you could almost claim the SSR were, but they were mostly horrible, incompetent people so I don't count them, and SHIELD was an international organization, so they don't count).

Gonzales's group is trying to take down the only organization that has been successfully fighting HYDRA and the other bad guys. So, the fake SHIELD which, as far as we know, has accomplished exactly nothing is trying to take out the real SHIELD because some idiots in the government won't accept that they never actually controlled or influenced SHIELD in the first place. This isn't a friendly disagreement. Its the idiot government vs. the heroes.

It seems like a fairly simple good vs. evil situation to me. Coulson isn't a danger to anything that isn't evil, and I think even Talbot actually knows that if he was forced to admit it, but the government is power hungry, and corrupt (HYDRA didn't just infiltrate SHIELD, as we saw in TWS, plus just normal corruption).

If nothing else, I hope they get this story over with soon. But I'm betting they're going to drag it out into next season, after ending the season with the real SHIELD getting destroyed, and then they somehow BS Mac and Mockingbird back onto the real team when Coulson's group wins. Hopefully we'll get more Mr. Hyde/Inhuman stuff though, its the only story I'm excited for on the show right now because of this stupid fake SHIELD stuff.

But have we actually seen the new S.H.I.E.L.D. do anything "evil"? We don't know what they are doing, so for all we know they could have been hunting down other parts of HYDRA. As we saw in the last episode, HYDRA was more than just Whitehall and the people we've seen on the show.
I also think it's worth keeping in mind that in the almost everybody else's eyes Coulson's group are dangerous fugitives.
The only reason we feel the way we do is because the show is about them, people on the outside probably aren't aware of all of the good they've done.
Bobbie and Mack have also been helping Coulson's team on the mission's they gone on, if they were completely bad guys I would think they would have tried to sabotage the missions or even kill Coulson & co. by now.
I just think it's worth keeping an open mind, and not jumping to conclusions with almost no evidence.

I just hate the whole idea of the storyline. Its not getting the benefit of the doubt from me. Its hit all the check boxes so far for "story arc I'll loathe". Also, I have no idea why Coulson's team would be called "dangerous fugitives", since they have done literally nothing to deserve that, outside of not allow the government to arrest them, and that's a problem. The Government is 1000x more corrupt and dangerous that Coulson's SHIELD could ever be.

As for Mac and Mockingbird, they're traitors, but they're professionals. Spying on Coulson while his team was saving the world probably gave fake SHIELD a lot of important info on inhumans and related stuff, so Mac/Mockingbird were just ordered to watch and help. I have no doubt that, for example, Mac would slit Fitz's throat in his sleep if ordered to, without hesitation. Hunter was captured because they figure they might be able to manipulate him into joining them. If they didn't think that, he'd probably be dead.

If they can see the good Coulson's team is doing and still betray them, they're no better than Ward. I was hoping that, when we first learned Mac/Mockingbird were answering to someone, that it was either Nick Fury, or that it was someone they would eventually betray due to loyalty to Coulson after having worked with him. But, that obviously isn't the case. I'll keep watching for the main cast and the inhuman stuff, but I'm already completely done with the entire fake SHIELD story arc. As far as I'm concerned its horrible episode filler that hopefully won't derail the actual plots of the season, like the inhuman stuff, Skye's powers, etc.

kirk55555, am I correct in thinking you don't like the way this is going, because I'm not sure.

Christopher, that was a joke about Wolverine jumping into a wood chipper to get a lot of back up, you know? :)

:rommie: Yeah, I guess I wasn't too subtle. Don't worry, I don't have much more to say on the subject (although that might change depending on today's episode).

I have memories of an old issue of Wolverine where he was locked in a Nazi death camp and the commander kept incinerating him, and he kept coming back the next day to haunt him.
