My Gripes with STID!

Cumberbatch actually changed his body to play Khan by working out and adding muscle and mass. Seems like he had some dedication to the role. From what I have seen of him on talk shows he is not a maniac with an obsession for family. So, not playing himself.

Let me just interrupt to say I love that avatar!

Thanks. It is a favorite Photoshop of mine. I should do a reverse someday.

It's too bad we can't see the ones in the background very well. You know what would be neat? An animation where the screens would move forward perpetually, so that each of them would be at the foreground for a second. That way we would all see them correctly.

He just wanted to be his best self for his upcoming roll playing himself.

What would that be?

The would be before playing Khan...

There is a larger version in the memorial thread in the the I-X movie forum. I might try an animated version though I'd have to start from scratch. I no longer have the individual components.

It does. He was not Khan.

Of course he was. It is in the script and credits. For the joke to work he would have to play a version of himself and have a reputation for doing that.

He plays a snotty, British twit in everything he does. Not Khan.

If you were trying to be funny, you missed the mark. If you weren't trying to be funny, well, you still missed the mark.

Maybe we saw different movies? Cumberbatch was nothing like a snotty, British twit in Star Trek Into Darkness.

Agreed. He was neither stupid or foolish.

Agreed. He was neither stupid or foolish.

It was a Southeast Asian character played by an Anglo with a British accent. His casting was way off the mark, and the Khan character was wasted in that movie.

So clever calling me stupid and foolish without calling me stupid and foolish. You have to be pretty intelligent to crack that kind of code.
