Got Fantasy Life for Christmas, so I've been playing that. Already sunk 10 hours into it and enjoying the game a lot. Still trying to get a handle on the combat part, but that could be because I didn't start with a combat-focused job for my character. It's a lot of fun exploring the world and the art style works very well - not that I expected anything else from Level-5. It's an awesome feeling, isn't it?
Installed a 1TB hard drive in both my PS3 and PS4, got every PSN/+ game I own installed on the PS3 and decided it was time to go through some of the backlog. So here I sit playing Mirror's Edge.
I noticed lol And I know, I checked today and with only 5 PS4 games my HDD is half full. Alright Sherlock Holmes is only 9GB but the rest are 40-50 minimum, only 408 available to start with and boom, 187 gone already. Going to need a 2TB HDD in this bitch to manage even a fair sized amount of games, and it's not like they boot without the disc either, has to be there no matter what, ugh.
It's pretty damn easy to change the hard drive. Top panel just pushes off and 5 screws. Just make sure you download the proper software file, the web page is badly designed and the link looks the same, the file name is the same but one version is 200mb, the other is 700mb. I spent ages thinking their was something wrong with the hard drive or the USB drive and it turned out I had the wrong version of the software. With 1TB only 870gb is available in the PS4, currently downloading everything on the PS4.
I'm just not in the mood to buy a TB level drive so damned soon after £450+ in over a month for the console and games, that's an insane amount of HDD use, I mean come on.
Yep. The only reason I did it was because I killed a laptop a couple of months ago and the drive from inside it sitting on a shelf, I thought this hard drive was 750gb and saw this as an opportunity to upgrade, turned out it was 1TB and meant I had the opportunity to get 1TB in both.
Cool. I did check out your library today while I was waiting for both Last of Us Remastered and GTA5 to install (about 85GB altogther...) and you have an insane amount of games.
I've only got about 7 or 8 PS games, of the rest at least 120 of them are PS+ freebies. The rest are ones I've bought and since traded in. I kinda felt it was high time I got to grips with the backlog. 85gb? Kin'ell. I thought the 35gb for The Evil Within was bad.
Ahh, I was wondering. Yeah GTA5 was loading from disc (50+GB), the update was downloading from PSN (1.23GB) and the other 38GB of Last of Us was background downloading. I just found other stuff to do for a couple of hours and just let it get on with it.
I am revisiting Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on my PS3. Gotta love it when one's Sneak and Archery skills are so high that you can pretty much hide in plain sight, just mere feet away from an enemy, and take them down in one or two shots. (Comes in very handy when fighting dragon priests, or large numbers of enemies from a distance.) BigFoot, you cannot go wrong with either FarCry 4 or Wolfenstein.
^ Yeah I've been playing FC4 for a while now. I have a bad feeling the game glitched on me though. I've done one mission three times already and the icon keeps popping up on the map. And there are no other mission icons on the map. I'm hoping a future patch will fix the problem. So I might start Wolfenstein soon.
Still, without decent internet speeds you're screwed. We have up to 25mbps (usually around 18mbps) and I still just left it to download everything over night.
^Ours is pretty good, got all of it in around an hour, the installing took another while. The PS3 and 4 connect slower than the computers though, just their wifi I guess. Caught up on some Need for Speed today for a change.
I just downloaded the "Shadow of Mordor" DLC the other day. Haven't played it yet, but it's next on my list.
Heh...in Skyrim, my character is pretty much a stealth assassin Arch-Mage. Sneak: maxed out, Illusion: maxed out, Alteration: close to maxed out, Archery: even closer to maxed out. Pertinent spells and perks: Silent spell casting, 250% magicka regeneration speed (means I can cast spells all day, pretty much without breaking a sweat), bows do double damage, I can call up Bound Bow, which gives me a quarell of 99 arrows every time, I can hide in plain sight just a few feet away from most enemies, Invisibility if and when I need it.... Yeah, very few enemies ever see me coming....and fewer still ever live to regret their oversight.
My Skyrim character is hilariously overpowered despite having no magic skills to speak of (none that I really use anyway.) Bows, stealth, 2H & light armor all maxed out and it's hilarious to sneak up behind someone and shish kebab them on six foot of steel before one shoting a dragon with a bow & arrow.
I'm 5 missions in to Lego City Undercover, 5 or 6 in to Mirror's Edge, plus had a quick go on inFamous First Light yesterday, enjoying all 3 of them, though Lego City is a bit on the repetitive side. Mirror's Edge I've previously completed but I've been wanting to replay for a while.
Sword'n'board! I've always wanted to try that route, but I almost invariably end up playing magic users in games like these. I remember a few years ago, I played Skyrim with another character that was similar to the one I'm currently playing. I had several dragon shouts, including Whirlwind sprint, and the whisper that lets you detect life. Well, I was in deepest, darkest Falmer territory, skulking and sneaking as I am wont to do....and I prepare to do the whisper to detect life. Instead, I accidentally shouted myself a Whirlwind sprint (using all three words, no less) right across a chasm! Yeah, my butt puckered just a bit with that little slip of the dragontongue...lol. I thought, oh, frak, they just heard me comin' a mile away! Not so the Falmer I had just landed not ten feet to the right of after my accidental whoosh! He was just standing there, completely oblivious to my sudden arrival. Turns out, my Sneak was cranked pretty high. (Further turns out I jumped out of my seat when I saw him....I mean that skeered the bejeezus outta me.... ). After I quickly regained my real-world composure, I shot him with my Bound Bow, searched him for loot, and proceeded about me quest. Good times!
