Yeoman Tamura & Guest Stars You Would've Liked to Have Returned

Dr. M'Benga. Two appearances, but he too seemed to have personality which went beyond the part. Seemed like a good guy.

(and unrelated to the question, but does anyone know what that weird picture on the wall is supposed to be? :wtf: )

Yeah, i think he had everything to be a more recurring character! It would have been fun to see a little off McCoy staff more often... It would give a more realistic feeling to the ship to have some static people instead the ones that ware there once and never more.
While I think Dr M'Benga would have been great, just how many doctors should a crew of 430 get? In books I often see one doctor for each shift.
I suppose the crew do get knocked around a bit and Kirk's always putting McCoy in danger by dragging him on landing parties. I just think most of the time two doctors would be sitting around getting bored.

Interesting question. Does anyone know how many doctors a current (or historical ) contemporary cruiser carries?

I just thought of another guest star I was intrigued by:

The old Andorian guy from Journey to Babel with the cool voice!

(I just looked him up: Reggie Nalder as Shras.)

He was super cool!!!!

Also known as Kurt Barlow in the original Salem's Lot!

Whoever did the research for that article is either an idiot, or has no respect for other people's favorite TV shows. 'And the term "Kikki-nee-klart" was changed to just "Klee-fah."' is one of the dumbest things I've read about Amok Time. Especially since we all know the term is "Kah-Li-Fee!"

Supposedly, Roddenberry pitched a M'Benga spinoff. He may have been created with that in mind.

I know more spinoff ideas were on the table, but I've never read anything about a M'Benga spinoff.

And I see the ever-present Mr. Cushman is the source of all the information in the linked article. I don't have his season two book, so it's possible he's uncovered some kind of documentation, but I'd advise taking it all with a grain of salt. (Plenty of other details in the link, either the author's work or Cushman's, are definitely incorrect).

Well, at least Dr. M'Benga appears to have been created by Roddenberry, which means he could proposed such an unlikely spin-off. However, spin-offs from shows with middling ratings are kinda doomed to failure.

It could indeed be BS. However, I think the actor had a lot of presence and could have carried his own show. Whether or not anyone would give him a show, well, that obviously never happened.

Patrick Nagel?? (guessing)

Every male wannabe-yuppie college student in the 80s had a Nagel print on the wall in his dorm room. They all ended up working for Enron and Goldman Sachs and Bernie Madoff.

D'Amato died in his first appearance. Or maybe did you mean that you wanted him to live to be in more episodes? It's my Asperger syndrome acting up. I can't always parse things according to a writer's original intent.

:guffaw:

This is SO true

And, for the record, no...I never had any.

And every hair salon from the 80s had a ripoff painted on their windows, with some of them still there.

I always wondered why Lt.Garrovick who was head of security and Lt.Dickerson (from Savage Curtain) were never seen again!

I always wondered why Lt. Garrovick conveniently appeared in an episode in which they just happened to come across the same creature that killed his father, when it attacked the USS Farragut. What a co-incidence. :wtf:

As for a returning character....does it really need to be said?

+1. :bolian:

If you're addressing me, YES!

I definitely think D'Amato should've been in more episodes, (if he hadn't bit the bullet), or at least last the whole episode he was in!

I'm definitely with you on Helen my friend!
She was absolutely gorgeous!

lol...this reminds me:

I noticed someone in Star Trek Online has their ship named the U.S.S. Helen Noel.
