The Flash - Season 1

I was reading an article in EW magazine saying there will be a gay villain on Flash. Maybe it's this Piper fellow?

I hope they don't feel a need to make a fanfare about it. I like how they slipped in the captain's boyfriend as if it was no big deal. That's the way it's supposed to be.

From Wikipedia:

Andy Mientus will portray Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper on The CW's The Flash. He is a former employee and mentee of Dr. Harrison Wells. He loses his hearing when the particle accelerator explodes. He develops sonicwave weaponry in order to exact revenge on Wells by targeting his new protege, The Flash. He is set to appear in the 11th and 12th episodes of the series' first season.

I don't watch arrow but am curious about what that last scene with Oliver and the woman in the coffee shop was about?

A flashback episode last season revealed that back in 2007, Oliver Queen had gotten a girl pregnant, and his mother Moira, believing her too low-class to be worthy of him, had paid her off to claim the pregnancy had miscarried and to move to Central City. So the baby she was talking to on the phone at the end is Oliver's child, but he doesn't know it. (It's speculated she may be the mother of Connor Hawke, Oliver's illegitimate son in the comics.)

And there's a little more of that small-universe syndrome that we've been discussing elsewhere. Ollie makes a presumably low-profile visit to Central City, and the girl he knew in Starling who moved there just happens to come into the coffee shop where Ollie's friend Barry hangs out while Ollie's there....

(Unless somebody tweeted that Ollie was there and she rushed over to stalk him...that would be a whole different issue.)

Could be coincidence. Twenty two years ago the woman who became wife and I ran into each other after not seeing each other for nearly a decade.

If it happens regularly then it might be Small Universe Syndrome.

Once, entirely by accident, I ran into a friend of mine in London. I was living in NYC at the time, she was living in Boston, and neither of us knew that the other was vacationing in England, and, no, there was no big science fiction convention involved to explain why we were both in London at the same time.

Or why she was staying in a bed-and-breakfast two doors down from where my girlfriend and I were staying . . . .

And this is why I will never enter the Witness Protection Program. :)

I really enjoyed both parts of the crossover.
I thought that Rainbow Raider was a cool bad guy, and it gave them a quick way to make Arrow and Flash fight in a way that made sense.
The fight and training scenes were both a lot of fun/
Leave it to Oliver to shoot somebody in the back as part of their training.

I thought the Rainbow Raider was a waste of concept, since he only used one color. What other tricks might he have had in his arsenal?

Fair enough example, I guess.

Maybe they save that for later appearances. He might not know what other emotions he can project on other people, yet. Just like Barry doesn't know the extend of his powers so far.

Maybe that is how he gets out of the prison cell. He makes Cisco fall in love with him with pink eyes or something. ;)

^That looks like more than a rumor, since there are actually quotes from a press release and the executive producer.

Now they need to bring back Alex Desert. And Joyce Hyser. And Mike Genovese, Biff Manard, Vito D'Ambrosio, Dick Miller...

Unfortunately Biff Manard died a few years ago. When Amanda Pays was announced I checked up on the rest of the older shows cast.

This is EPIC!!! The level of added publicity this will get as the new Star Wars is coming out soon is HUGE. Much more than his appearances on the old show got.

Drifting off-topic, but I've just been watching Gerry Anderson's UFO on Hulu, and I've thought that if they'd remade the show or done a movie around the '90s, Mark Hamill would've been a good choice for Commander Straker, since there's a striking resemblance between him and Ed Bishop.

Yeah, very cool news about Hamill playing the Trickster again. And of course you just know he'll end up being the mastermind behind everything in the end, or that it'll be some big scheme of his to escape the prison somehow.

Would be cool to see him and Shipp interacting in the prison as well.

The article above says Hamill and Shipp will be appearing together. With them both at the same prison its too great an opportunity to pass up.

Amanda Pays will be in tomorrows episode and there is very little info on it. She is not in the the episode teaser nor is she in of the official episode pictures. All we know is Tina McGee works for Mercury Labs. A competitor of STAR Labs, whom helps Wells try to capture the Reverse Flash.

I am truly THRILLED by all of this. Amanda Pays was announced on September 15th. My father died that day. He had battling cancer most of this last year. He had been rushed to the hospital the night before. I had been on the phone with my Mom on and off through the day. I read about Amanda Pays coming to the show right before I got the call he died.

This has given me something to look forward too. My Dad watched the old Flash show with me as a kid. He LOVED watchingArrow. He read the old comics in the golden age. He was big in to Archery. I know he would have liked to have seen all this....
