The Flash - Season 1

If they really wanted to send comic fans over the edge, they would have had her call her son Connor when she was on the phone with him. Missed opportunity.

BERLIN!

So odd seeing her out of uniform.

Didn't she die on Defiance? So does this mean Ollie really fathered a child with her?

I thought it was a pretty good crossover episode. I'm sorry to see Barry's actions only alienated him from Iris and vilified him even more in Eddie's eyes, someone who doesn't trust him to begin with.

Looking forward to Arrow tomorrow!

Contrary to rampant speculation, the identity of the Reverse Flash"The Man in the Yellow Suit" is neither Eddie or Harrison Wells, a fact that I'm very happy about.

^ How would time travel have anything to do with
the RF being in the same room as both of the people who've been speculated to be that character?

^ Somehow I doubt that a show like The Flash is going to ascribe to the same time travel mechanics as the Back to the Future films, which had some of the most honestly wonky rules about time travel that I've ever seen (that's not to say that the films are bad, because they're not).

I liked the episode a lot. Barry vs. Oliver was cool, and the fight was well done. I was originally hoping that the rage inducing metahuman would end up being a Flash version of Psycho Pirate, but rainbow Raider was someone I never would have expected, and its interesting enough. The episode was fun and entertaining, and I'm sure the Arrow episode will be, too.

I'm not saying that Zoom is Eddie or Wells, just that that is not enough evidence to discount that it isn't a future version of one of those two men. And as far as Wells is concerned, Zoom might even be a past version of himself who he thinks is a dick.

Bill and Ted often met each other at different points in their lives too.

Doctor Who meets himself all the time, and who can for get "Me from Ten from now" from Austin Powers?

We don't know "when" Zoom considers the present, the Doctor's wife, well one of them really, River Song, was encountering their love affair backwards...

Meanwhile we don't know what the timeine looked like before Zoom murdered Nora Allen.

There is no predestination beyond "duty" which is a human instinct compared to cosmic forces in other "universes". Time is changing depending on what is happening in he past, which means that before Zoom killed Nora, Nora was alive in the 2014, or should have been baring accidents.

That means that we'll have a zoom arriving back form the past who remembers a timeline where Nora Lived, and another Zoom arriving from the future who is from the exiting current timeline where Nora had always died.

So many Zooms!

You know, pointless villain, maybe ARROW will make up for it. I kept thinking Batman v Superman. :D

BTTF was nowhere near the first or only work of fiction to show a time traveler meeting his or her past self. That trope was old before Robert Zemeckis was even born. Robert A. Heinlein used it repeatedly, notably in 1941's "By His Bootstraps" and 1959's "--All You Zombies--". And so have plenty of other authors since.

Barry can't have Felicity & Iris!?!? Go for Iris! :adore:

Why? Okay, she's marginally hotter, but nowhere near as smart, funny, thoughtful, supportive, and resourceful. If you want someone to put up on a pedestal and stare at, then Iris would work. But if you want a life partner who'll enrich your existence, then Felicity's by far the better prospect. (Assuming, of course, that either lady is interested. But there again, Felicity comes out ahead, because she's already interested in Barry. If Iris hasn't thought about him as a romantic prospect in all this time, why expect that to change?)

Oh, speaking of life partners, I liked the casual way in which Captain Singh mentioned his boyfriend. I don't recall if we've had a gay male recurring character in this universe yet -- the only LGBT characters I can think of are Sarah and Nyssa.

I've seen the first half so far. It's a given that the speedster himself is usually protected from friction. But if he could burn off Felicity's top, shouldn't Felicity herself have been burned? Or does his aura/speed force/whatever extend around other people but not their clothes?

Cisco's burst of Yoda almost had me choking on a crouton...and did anyone else catch the nod in the "Ralph" reference (and I don't mean the Elongated Man)?

@Christopher Barry loves & cares for Iris, it is painful watching the typical trope of hero not being with the girl he really wants(SMALLVILLE : Clark/Lana anyone?).

In Superman The Movie Lois asked him if he has a first name during their interview. He replied "You mean like Ralph or something?"

and that boyfriend is apparently going to be the Pied Piper.

Really fun episode, even if a bank robber with glowing red eyes seemed like an awfully cheesy and hackneyed way to turn Barry "evil". Surely the writers could have thought of something better than that.

But everything else about the episode worked great. I've only watched the first season of Arrow so far, but that was still enough to be familiar with the Diggle and Felicity characters (who apparently haven't changed all that much in two years). Think I'll probably wait til I'm caught up to watch the second part though, since it's bound to be a LOT more spoilery.

I'm also really loving all the little call backs to previous episodes, like Cisco's snarky comment about the cold gun. And the actual fight between Flash and Arrow was well-realized too. I liked that Oliver actually pointed out a weakness we've all been noticing with Barry ourselves, with how he simply rushes into danger without being aware of his surroundings first. And of course that's the only way Oliver could have possibly gotten any advantage over him in a fight.

I would like to point out I disagree with the "Draw result" stated in the episode. Oliver won and for now that makes sense with him being the more experienced fighter. However 5 years from now that would be a different story ;)
