It's actually not bad, really. And it actually reminds me a lot of the opening to "Stargate Infinity" - look it up. :)

I'm looking forward to the full title sequence.

    Hah, I didn't notice that before :)

As for the final battle, everyone else has discussed the much bigger and more important faults, but for me I sorely wish TJ was Red Turbo. C'mon, while he was great as the Blue Space Ranger, it was still a demotion, and the last time we saw TJ was in his Red Turbo form.

^Speaking of which, it was weird that Tommy was presented as the White Ranger initially (flash of White Ranger helmet and use of Saba) but appeared in the Legendary Battle as the Green Ranger. Even aside from the question of how all the past Rangers managed to get their powers back in the first place, how's he able to switch between two different power sets? And while the nostalgia factor is obvious, it would make more sense if he appeared in his most recent form, the Black Dino Ranger.

What would've been really cool for the Extended Edition would be if they'd added footage of "Tommy" (or his stunt double with Frank dubbing in his voice) fighting the army by switching between his various modes Legendary-style -- Green Ranger, White Ranger, Zeo Ranger V, Red Turbo Ranger, and Black Dino Ranger. That would've been a terrific way to pay tribute to the character, if Saban had really cared enough to do that rather than just half-heartedly tossing him in for ninety seconds.

By the way, it's paradoxical that the Zeo, Turbo, and Space Rangers were all included in the Legendary Battle, because the first set of Turbo Rangers (aside from the preteen brat) were also the Zeo Rangers, and the second set were also the Space Rangers. RangerWiki explains it by surmising that the Turbo Rangers were the robot replacements built by Zordon in one episode of Turbo.

But at least they remembered to leave out Zeo Ranger V and the Black Dino Ranger due to Tommy being in Green mode (although I gather they're glimpsed in the background in a few shots).

Did they have the Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers? I don't think they were there, but I'm not completely certain. If they did though, then who would be operating those suits?

If I recall correctly, the JF Spirit Rangers were created specifically for JF, and were not originated by Gekiranger. They wouldn't have appeared in any of the Legendary Wars footage, and why go thru the trouble of including here.

    Hurricanger reborn! :p
I've often wondered if the sentai producers ever considered doing a sequel season to any of the past series. It might be fun if they picked an old favorite and continued from it with a new set of characters sprinkled with a few vets.

Here's a listing of all the Legendary Rangers who appeared in the series:

    http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Legendary_Rangers

The JF Spirit Rangers were not included.

On the other hand, there was new footage shot including the Titanium Ranger from Lightspeed Rescue.

I'll try to make a list of who didn't appear:

Either Trini Kwan or Aisha Campbell (depending on which Yellow MMPR Ranger it was)
    Ninjor
    Auric the Conqueror
    Phantom Ranger
    Blue Senturion
Kendrix Morgan (since Karone was Galaxy Pink)
Alex (since Wes was Time Force Red)
    Anubis Cruger (SPD Shadow Ranger)
    Kat Manx (SPD Kat Ranger)
    SPD Nova Ranger
SPD A-Squad Rangers (not sure I should count them, since they're villains)
    Udonna (White Mystic Ranger)
    Leanbow (Wolf Warrior)
    Sentinel Knight
    Spirit Rangers
    Lauren Shiba (Red Samurai II)

So that's only two core Rangers unaccounted for, Kendrix and either Trini or Aisha.

Sun Vulcan was a sequel to Denjiman.

Other than that Hurricanger got the 10 years after movie, not a sequel series but it's the first time a cast returned outside of a team-up (I don't coint the Shinkenger Returns etc. movies because they were filmed and released right after their respective series, it wsn't a return, it was still being there).

Yeah, but it was a second consecutive year of the same storyline. I think cylkoth is suggesting something more like bringing back an old team/setting years later.

Dairanger ended with a rather silly finale in which the cast members played their own grandchildren inheriting the Dairanger mantle 50 years later.

There was a really cool unused proposal for the Hurricanger adaptation called Power Rangers Hexagon. It would've been an epic climax to the entire series thus far, with Tommy as the Nick Fury of a SHIELD-like organization consolidating all the past Ranger teams, and with Jason as the leader of a rival faction that felt the Hexagon had grown out of control and become oppressive. It sounds like it could've been amazing, but it was scuttled by the decision to move production to New Zealand (and it was just one of various possibilities they considered anyway).

About Hexagon, it wasn't scuttled by anything and it was never a possibility, it's fan fiction and not even good, it goes against everything Power Rangers stands for (which is teamwork not a series long ranger civil war), it would have required obscene amounts of original footage and put way too much focus on a shitload of returning characters.
Most of the Hexagon stuff online was also written after the fact and not when Hurricanger was in its early stages which is when the proposal would have been made.

Amit Bhaumik, who wrote it actually worked on Wild Force but that doesn't mean his unsolicited Hexagon stuff is not fan fiction, he also wrote a "proposal" for a Shinkenger adaptation which is even more fan fictiony.

You are also mistaken that there were several possibilities for Ninja Storm. Disney produced Wild Force when they bought Saban Entertainment ans then cancelled the series, a continuation wasn't considered, Wild Force wrapped and MMPR Productions was dissolved, the end (and no Hexagon proposal anyone would listen to!).
It was only after the fact that Doug Sloan and Ann Austen approached Disney and suggested moving production to New Zealand to produce it for a much lower budget, the show was subsequently uncancelled and Village Roadshow started producing Ninja Storm, the version we got was the only possibility.

The idea of Hexagon being considered for anything is laughable because it would have required a significantly larger budget, Amit would have been laughed out of every office as soon as he came to the part were they threw away almost the entire Hurricanger footage to replace it with an all star show centered around Tommy and Jason who hadn't even been approached.

Amit Bhaumik is the prime example why fans should never be allowed to run the show.

Okay, maybe it was never in serious contention, but it was an intriguing proposal. And whether you liked it or not, it's relevant enough to the topic of sequel seasons that it's worth mentioning as a glimpse of what such a season could hypothetically have looked like.

Also, the article I linked to disagrees with you about the "fanfiction" interpretation, suggesting that some preliminary seeds for this idea (or something like it) were being laid in Wild Force and particularly in "Forever Red." Naturally a story editor or producer of a show would be likely to have ideas about what might be done in its future. Those ideas may never get to the stage of actually being realized, but that doesn't make them fanfiction, just preliminary planning.

There's one called "Cross My Line", that was intentionally written as a grudge between Ron Wasserman and Saban.

I remember watching the Kakuranger tribute episodes of Gokaiger and trying to imagine delightfully the return of Ninjor in PR. I really disliked him when he first appeared (that Dudley Do-Right voice...ugh), but as the years went by, I slowly grew more fond of the character, even if he kept getting kidnapped. And having him return and, say, greet Tensou as an old friend would have more concretely reinforced Tensou's claim that he was an old colleague of Zordon's (the way Tensou mentioned Zordon felt like name-dropping, as if he met a celebrity once but claimed to all his friends that he was Zordon's bff).

But not having Ninjor in PR is only a drop compared to the fact that most of the Rangers of that list (the Sentai ones anyway) never made it to Super Megaforce, and that's a much bigger shame.

As for Hexagon, while it never got farther than the proposal stage, it would have been a unique way to handle the Hurricanger Vs. Gouraiger stock footage, of which there was plenty for the first dozen episodes or so. After that footage gets used up, Hexagon would have probably resorted back to the usual PR status quo of a happy united team for the rest of the season.

I wonder why they decided on having a male yellow, since they apparently didn't have one in Kyoryuger because they felt that yellow had become too associated with females.
