Still need to go back and play Black Flag (last AC I played was Brotherhood; Revelations and 3 seem very much skippable). Can't get excited for this one until I've done that.

Revelations was good. I thought 3 was intensely uninteresting in every respect. But 4 was pretty good again mainly for the Zelda Windwaker format.

I do feel that the story is becoming less interesting as it goes along though. Nothing has been as fascinating as the revelations of AC2 and it also had the best past story.

AC2 is damn near impossible to live up to, especially the ending.

This doesn't look too bad. I really loved AC up until AC3 destroyed that love completely. I might pick up Unity!

I thought Revelations was great! It does a wonderful job tying up a bunch of story elements, and it connects the story of Ezio and Altair is a really cool way. I would definitely play it.

AC3...you might want to play it for the "real world" part of the story, as important things to do happen, but god, the rest of the game is so damn boring.

Black Flag was fun!

Hmm, it has been a couple of years since I played 1, 2, and Brotherhood back-to-back, but I still feel a bit tired of Ezio. ;) Also, I'd rather play a next-gen AC on XBONE then go back to 360 or PS3. Maybe they'll do an HD re-release collection at some point.

That's fair. I played 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations back-to-back, and it definitely caused me to have some genre fatigue. The game is quite good, but I can understand wanting a break from it. After a while it becomes pretty tedious.

You know, I have to say that it is a bit weird that Ubisoft is releasing TWO completely different Assassin's Creed games on the exact same day. I get that they're for different consoles (Rogue for PS3, Unity for PS4), but it still feels like overkill, especially for those of us that are fans of the series and want to play both of them.

The more of these games that there are, the more muddled down the "real world" part of the story becomes. AC3 wrapped up Desmond's storyline, but it still left certain things unresolved. While I enjoyed Black Flag quite a bit, I was very disappointed in what they did to continue the real world story.

I'd been really looking forward to my yearly AC fix and Ezio was a great character. That's why 3 was such a humongous disappointment for me; from Ezio to Conway. from Middle East ancient cities to... a forest and colonial towns.

4 was much better than 3, though the present day story was a complete waste of time.

I really do miss the ancient cities of the Ezio trilogy.

The American Revolution just didn't interest me at all as a setting for these kinds of games.

Hm, i liked Connor and AC3...
Shifted the mood back to a more stoic lead, similair to Altair, AC4 gave us a more flamboyant lead again similair to Ezio...
Rogue's protagonist looks like another stoic lead since he is going after his old "family" of Assasin's...

Hmm, that almost sells me on AC3, at least in terms of the lead character. I liked Altair. He was kind of an ass.

AC1 I was barely interested in. The visuals were gorgeous but the story was boring, the character was boring, and you performed the same five missions over and over the entire game. It was the only ending revelation of the Apple that hooked me.

AC2 wins for most improved sequel EVER. Fascinating story, character, villains, gameplay, every mission is different, the fascinating mystery of the Adam and Eve fragment videos, and the most amazing plot twist ever in the ending.

Brotherhood and Revelations were worthy followups to AC2. Loved having minions to sick on people. The Stronghold defense mission was really annoying though I avoided that.

AC3 as I said earlier was a total disappointment across the board.

I almost gave up on Assassin's Creed after III, but I decided to give it one more chance and picked up Black Flag. That game, to me, was like the transition from Assassin's Creed to Assassin's Creed II. I thoroughly enjoyed it after being bored to tears by III and I'm anxiously awaiting the next seven hours so I can try out Unity :)

So, Unity is a technical mess, very, very badly optimized. Massive issues with framerate dropping way below 30 and pop-in on all platforms.
