Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

And like an idiot, I decided to watch this ep in my basement workshop while building a model, on my crappy old, small TV.

As soon as it's on demand, I'm watching the May fight again.
And again!

Anyone else have sound issues with the episode? There was some kind of low level static for the entire show but not during commercials.

No...I didn't, anyway. Think it might be your TV?

^I just mean what he said to the other guys. I thought Coulson told him at the end of the last episode....

Gotta say...Dr. Whitehall is a DANG good Big Bad. He does what no one in Season One was able to do...give Raina her comeuppance! The manipulator gets manipulated, at last!

Anyone able to do that...deserves respect.

Fine. He's got it.

About that torture boast of his, though? I'd still want to end him. Or shop him to either Coulson or the Mossad. Take your pick.

Of course; I only mean I love to see you-know-who get their comeuppance--even if it is by an even worse villain.

No Guy they do not have a higher frame rate. Current U.S. broadcast TV only uses 1080i at 59.97 or 720p at 29.97. The original source material may have been shot at at higher rates but everything that airs on TV is converted to one of those two standards based on the channel. Audio clarity is subjective based on the skills of whoever mixes the final audio into either 8channel or 2channel for the spot in question. Commercials used to sound louder than the programming they were in because the mixers found a way to increase the sound pressure levels while maintaining the same volume. Recent legislation has nixed that practice and every commercial is run through both spl and volume testing to avoid FCC fines.

Another good episode. I understand Coulson's want to be put down (who wants to go crazy?) but I hope if it comes down to it, May will just hold him captive until she finds a cure for the cure (yeesh). It was also odd/neat seeing happy-go-lucky May. I think she might have looked forward to being captured.

I don't know if it's just me but I like the broken Fitz more than smart-ass Fitz. I can't put my finger on why.

It also sucks that Coulson didn't get to see Agent 33's face. I think he would have recognized her and/or made an effort to save her. I was kinda hoping the shock snapped her out of her mind control but she's still with Hydra anyway.

I wasn't sure why Coulson felt the need to tell Talbot (the real one) that there was an imposter of him. It's not like Talbot is going to check every guest list world-wide to stop it from happening again.

But it still was a good episode overall.

It's awfully convenient that fake May has the exact same body type and hair style and length as real May.

I think it's to try and convince Talbot that HYDRA is still a real threat and he shouldn't waste time pursuing Coulson when the real bad guys are still out there.

This was a great episode. I liked how the team reacted to May during the undercover portion of the mission, it was pretty funny  The villains pretty good, its goign to be great when he gets whats coming to him. The May vs. May fight was cool, but it was weird that the other woman was so close to May physically that only the face needed changing. OVerall, this season has been great so far, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down.

According to 1960s Mission: Impossible, just putting on a rubber mask is enough to change your bone structure, weight and height. Imagine how much more capable a digital mask is !
:borg:

I think the May vs May fight was able to top the May vs Ward fight from the season finale as the best fight on the show.

I wasn't quite clear, but is Agent 33 dead?

I doubt it. It was the same wire that Hydra guy used to torture May and it may "just" knocked out Agent 33 (on top of giving her a nasty facial scar).

But damn was that an awesome fight (especially the mid air spin/head vs table move) and i had to remind myself over and over again that Ming Na Wen is 50!!!:drool: If i ever have a wife/girlfriend once we're at that age and she looks like that i'll be dancing the irish jig for the rest of my life

A nice episode that moves along the plots for this season and i echo the sentiment that De Caestecker (Fitz) is really playing the character so well and it's given him much to do in the acting department. I don't know where they're going with Fitz but it's both heartbreaking to see (and be reminded of) what he was able to do, where he's now but that he's also fighting to get ahead.

Fitz is hurting because his love for Simmons seemed to be unrequited, but he also thought that she left to get away from him. I don't think that Colson disabused that notion for him. But he might start to recover now that he's interacting with the team again.

That was awesome, I really didn't see that move coming. I thought she was just going to do a spin kick, not slam her head into the table.

Fitz said that Simmons left because she didn't share his feelings. For all we know, she may have told him those exact words at some point before she left.

You never know though.

Holy crap, I just thought of a great ending: Fitz and Simmons kiss, and we have no idea if they really did or if it was just in his head. The end.
