Female is the default gender
What do nipples have to do with which came first?
In the Bible it says that God created woman from man. Now why would God in all his perfect design and efficiency give man nipples when they serve no other function than a sexual sensory organ that on the female is meant to stimulate the female into releasing milk for her offspring?
Proves that once again that man can from female because God would have known that man would never need nipples, which in this case if you believe in God, a man, creating everything then such a creation is a failure.
It is therefore possible that very early humans did have both reproductive organs combined into a single human and over time that due to the evolution of the planet that would have effected human development and evolution as well the genes of the hermaphrodite human would have become two distinct sexes.

In religious art, Adam and Eve are always shown with navels. Since man was created in God's image, it follows that God must have a navel. So the question is: Does God have an innie or an outie?Who gave birth to God? Where is his belly button!?!?

I'm a Roman Catholic and as for the specific issue of Eve's creation in the Genesis story, I was taught that her being taken from Adam's rib was more-or-less meant to represent how women were meant to be treated. It's not meant to be taken literally, when you do that, you let the air out of the balloon. The meaning behind these stories is often much more significant when you do. Adam's rib was chosen because it's near his heart, signifying that he was to love her and at his side, so he could protect her. It's not supposed to represent reality, at all. It's all symbolic. So, I wouldn't try using it to support any "which gender came first" argument, when it was never about that, really. In the Bible it says that God created woman from man. Just for the record, male breasts are smaller than female breasts but they are functioning, man can and do lactate when they're provided with the right hormones.I try to picture his ideas in my head, and I end up seeing a planet full of women spontaneously getting pregnant and giving birth to other women...until one day, quite by surprise, a woman is born with a penis and non-functioning nipples.

Many babies regardless of gender produce milk after birth because of the mother's hormones still being in their bodies.

So this once again proves that man evolved from woman.
No.Could humans therefore have been similar to reptiles prior to a mammalian infusion with a reptilian human counterpart?
No.Or could early humans have been Protist?
