What happened to the Star Trek: Gorkon series?

I think the lack of KRAD written books has been one of the biggest disapointments of the last few years of Trek Lit.

Agree! I'm actually surprised that the current editors are blinded to his value to the Trek line. I loved every one of his books.

I'm in favor of KRAD's return as well, with or without KE in tow. While the current author family is awesome, it feels like a family reunion where one of your favorite uncles is always missing. :klingon:

I was really surprised when I heard the current editors had no interest in getting him to write for them. I had thought he was one of the more popular authors, at least as much as any of the current writers.

I think it's been explained before that the author names unfortunately don't seem to matter much in the business, unless it's literary stunt casting where an author known for his original work pens a tie-in. Other factors affect sales more. After all, Articles of the Federation didn't sell much, either. Very frustrating, really.

It appears I.K.S. Gorkon/Klingon Empire didn't sell very well either - so I agree with Sto-Vo-Kory upthread: buy more KRAD books.

^ Of course that also goes for buying some of KRAD's non-Trek, original novels. If the editors feel he could actually bring some of his extended readership along, etc.

All in all, any kind of sale probably doesn't hurt things :).

^ I'm hoping that a Blu-ray remastering of DS9 will be announced soon and am sort of saving your rewatch for when I rewatch the series from Blu-ray :). If it doesn't happen I'm sure I'll rewatch DS9 sooner or later anyhow though ...

There's this great website called the Lurker's Guide for Babylon 5 which collects plot notes, continuity notes ("why this ep mattered") and relevant Usenet posts by JMS for every episode. It got me into the habit of doing some reading after watching an ep back then, and your TNG rewatch is pretty much the best similar offering aside from the episode guide books.

Oh, and Sho is correct that I have LOTS AND LOTS of other books that may not have Klingons in them, but are still kinda okay.......

^Indeed.

Still... would love to see more about Klag and the Gorkon crew, fallout from the Bacco Assassination and how things happened after ala an "Articles of the Federation" sequel.

May not make the most sense, but in my head... You're "The Klingon Guy".

Much like Una is "The Cardassian Gal", Mack is "The Artful Assassin", and Christopher is "The Science Guy". (All compliments)

And a few that are fantastic - like your "Dragon Precinct" series. :) (On that note, any news on the final book in that series? *grins, ducks and runs*)

Why thank you! I'm hoping that Mermaid Precinct will be out early next year.....
