Hmm, maybe for the next one Snyder can slowly pan up and around Gal Gadot's body in the WW costume? ;)

Personally I took changes like that as intentional to better align with the fact that Watchmen as a film was drawing from the existing superhero film canon of today the way that Watchmen the comic drew from superhero comics. Trying to create Watchmen the comic as a film was doomed to failure (or at least marginalization) because the audience lacks the context of the comics, much less those in the day it was created. Drawing those parallels to the familiar films inspired by those comics instead just makes sense.

I can see how that might work in theory, but in execution I just don't think the idea really came through that well at all. Snyder's Watchmen might have had the glossy look of a modern superhero movie, but the action was much more brutal and violent than in any superhero movie, and the tone was much more adult as well. So in the end it does nothing but muddle the message and point of the story even further.

It's like people who try to argue that Sucker Punch has some deeper, more profound level to it. Well yeah, that might have been Snyder's intention, but it's not really what comes through on the screen. And you've really got to strain to see anything more than what is actually there.

^ Not uncommon. Dick Grayson was 2 years younger than Barbra when he became Robin. In the classic comics Dick became Robin at age 12. When Dick was 18 he was fired by Batman and Jason became Robin. Jason is the same age as Dick.

Also there was that super uncomfortable time when Bruce and Barbra dated. So yeah... Most stories have Batman beginning his career at 17-18-19. Bruce takes on Dick as a partner around age 22 or 24.

I'm pretty sure Bruce and Barbara only dated in the DCAU...

I don't think I've ever seen Bruce portrayed as that young when he started being Batman. I'd put him in his early to mid 20's at the earliest.

They did?! I remember an instance of Babs daydreaming of making out with Batman, and in "Mystery of the Batwoman" she plays the jealous girlfriend (emphasis on "plays"), but I don't think there was anything more serious than a teenagers crush.

I do remember Bruce and Barbara having a date on the Adam West show, though.

I guess my time frames are wonky. In Frank Miller's Batman year one comic, I get the feeling that Bruce is still a teenager/ in his early 20's but no older than 22. I consider the time Bruce spent training to be Batman as a teenage apart of his career. You know before he worked out all the particulars of the Batman costume.

Or maybe it's the timeline in comics that have me scrambled. With Dick and Jason being the same age. Dick 18 was fired was fired/quit and became Nightwing with the TT and Jason was 18 when he replaced Dick. A year later Jason dies and Tim replaces Tim was 9 years old at the time he reveals to Dick and Bruce he knows who they are. Pre-Flashpoint/current New52, Tim is presumably around 16 or 17 now.

Doing the math on that you have 6 years of Dick and Bruce + 1 year with Jason + 7 or 8 years with Tim and idk how many years with Damien. If we assume Bruce was in his mid 20's when he began his career as Batman, then he would be pushing 40 by now. A real head scratcher when you consider everyone else in the New52 verse is in their late 20's to early 30's.

Eh that's comics for you though.

Yeah, new52 timeline definitely doesn't work since Batman didn't get reset. It means that all of the Robins spanned only 5 years.

It was established in Batman Beyond. "Mystery of Batwoman" was a bit of retroactive foreshadowing for that.

In 'Year One', Bruce's age is mentioned as 25 years.

Now, that you mention it ... But the experience left Barbara slightly embittered, far as I remember.
