Regardless of them being comic characters, I remember being taken aback that Batman killed outright in those movies. Specifically, I remember the bomb in the plant and throwing the guy to his death in the clock tower. It wasn't the comic book Batman that I knew, but I enjoyed the movie any way for what it was. Two hours of Kim Bassinger screaming.

But it would be an interesting take for the Batman to go after Superman for making a mess of Metropolis only to realize his own mistakes. The two heroes draw inspiration from each other and grow spiritually before the end of the film....

Oh, this is 2014--sorry, forget that suggestion...

Might be simply the angle/quality of footage but that doesn't seem to have the gun turret, so maybe I am right about the deployed footage.

As for Synder not making Batman a killer, I don't know about that - In Watchmen, I was surprised that in the alley scene he made the decision to ramp up the violence and make Dan a killer.

^Snyder's Batman might kill. Rewatching the Batman films (1989-2012) a few months ago; I realized the only film that Batman does not commit a homicide in Batman & Robin. That's disturbing when you think about it.

I read somewhere (can't remember where, though) that the increase in violence was executive meddling. Not sure if that's true, but there you go.

It never made much sense to me because how was Dan suppose to be the contrast when he was happy to stick a knife in a guy's throat?

<<However, after seeing the turret at the front of the Batmobile, I have an idea of what his take on that might be. >>

The Watchmen movie was either way too ultra-violent, or way too stylish and comic booky. Basically everything but what it should have been, which is a grim and naturalistic look at a world where superheroes are real people who are just as damaged and screwed up as everyone else.

I never noticed it before, but it does looks very similar.
The turret gun is on the hood instead of the roof.

Wow. Now that gun is definitely way too big for a Batmobile.

Yesterday, rumors spread that one of the Batmobile models had been stolen while filming in Detroit. Zack Snyder went to Twitter to personally address those rumors.

He tweeted that picture with the words "Case closed".

What lack of concern for human life? Did you forget about the kids on teh bus and that Clark went back for Pete Ross? Or the guys on the oild rig or the soldier in Smallville orthe people that Superman saved by killing Zod? Any conflict between Batman and Superman will, I'm sure be orchestrated by Lex Luthor. And I'm sure that like Col. Hardy before him Batman will learn that Superman isn't the enemy.

I've already addressed this countless times in this thread, but I was referring to the climax of the film. I didn't forget about any of those incidents. As a matter of fact, I remember them quite fondly. Which made the ending, for me, that much more jarring when it did seem, at least to me, that Superman all of the sudden forgot about the people of Metropolis during his fight with Zod. I'm sure you, like many others, will take issue with this point. But that's how I feel and how I will continue to feel.

This is Nolan's style of storytelling, just as the ending of The Dark Knight Rises, where Batman allowed missles to hit buildings. To say nothing of the massive damage to Gotham thougout the trilogy. And really it wasn't Superman hitting Zod though buildings it was the other way around. And it is pretty easy to Batman as just as big of a menace to society given the cannons on the new Batmoble, which I'm sure aren't there for show.

Still it'll be pretty cool seeing Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the Cyborg in one movie, it's a shame that so much attention is focused on Man Of Steel rather than what Batman Vs Superman will be bringing us.

Might be funnier if it were a Marvel character stealing the Batmobile or something. There's no rivalry between DC and SW, so I'm not really getting the jokes Snyder keeps making about it.

Unless he's just trying to hint very strongly that he wants to direct a SW movie.

^I was wondering that too. Or maybe he's just genuinely a big SW fan and loves to acknowledge it.

I think it's just some back-and-forth fun between Snyder and Abrams.

This was from Abrams last month:

    One answer to that: Disney=Marvel=Lucasfilm=Pixar.

I like it a lot more after seeing those pictures. It looks a lot sleeker than the initial pictures suggested.
