Zero Hour, Storm Front 1+2

I can safely say these are about the only Enterprise episodes I seem to watch over and over. I like these episodes because there seems to be a lot of suspense, action, and fun in them. My question is this though, the Xindi weapon that is suppose to destroy Earth, is that their equivelant to a Death Star? I've never been a big fan of Star Wars, but I just realized that last night when I was watching Zero Hour for the upteenth time.

I also noticed that Daniels seems to be Archer's "Al" from Quantum Leap. I don't know if that was mentioned before, but if you closely watch those two, it seems as though Daniels only purpose is to help Archer through time-travel almost in the same way Al helped Sam in Quantum Leap. Coincidence, or just for the show?

One thing I like about Storm Fronts' 1+2 are the characters. I like the "mob" guys in the alternate 20th Century, because they seem to come from an Italian background which of course is what I'm from. I've seen the heavier-set guy in other films and TV before... isn't he a host on SpikeTV for something? I can't remember the guys name, I think it might be Carmine on the show or something like that.

I think it would of been nice if they could of somehow actually shown Hitler for real instead of in the reels at the beginning. If it was just in the reels, then maybe a segment with an actor portraying Hitler rather then just the footage shown. Oh well, these episodes are still great to watch after all these years

I'm actually ticked off about Storm Front. Not because it's actually bad -- it isn't, tho' I didn't need another Trek Nazi story -- but because...

Zero Hour was an excellent episode and I think this was definitely an occasion when we really, truly did NOT need a "cliffhanger" ending. I would have preferred to see the episode end with the scene that comes at the end of SF2. The ships coming out to meet Enterprise and welcome her home.

Then S4 opens with a 3 episode "Home" arc. There was so much they could have done with it.
Archer's guilt issues.
Hoshi's post traumatic stress.
Phlox and Archer having to answer for creating Sim and then killing him.
T'Pol's mainlining Trellium.
The ascension of a fringe radical group called Terra Prime.
Trip finally going to see his parents (since he apparently didn't do so in The Expanse).
Maybe even see the Enterprise 2 turn up.

The "cliffhanger" ending didn't really bother me that much. I just thought it had a lot of good action & suspense. One thing bothers me though -- if Earth is being attacked like that, then why weren't there any other defenses out there orbiting the planet besides just the Enterprise? I realize they had help from the Andorians and Degra, but still. I highly doubt even in the 22nd Century that Enterprise was "the only ship in the quadrant" at a time like that.

We will never know. Realistically a fleet of Reptilian ships should have accompanied the weapon. There should have been a fleet of the Intrepid and Neptune type Earth ships and a few Vulcan ships that fought the Xindi while Archer boarded the weapon to destroy it. There should have been at least 6 Earth and 1 Vulcan ship there.

I'm guessing they were counting on Enterprise to stop the launch or destroy the weapon before it could get to Earth. After all, considering the destructive power of the "test" weapon, a defensive line of ships wouldn't have even slowed it down.

The weapon came through some kind of subspace corridor without warning. No one had any idea when or where it would arrive -- and there wasn't exactly time to coordinate with allies. What is curious, is that Shran came to the rescue but apparently didn't give SF or the Vulcans a debriefing on what Archer was up against.
