Your Top Five DS9 Supporting Characters

Sloane was fantastic. His interactions with Bashir always made for great television. I wish that A) he'd been featured in more episodes, and B) that his death hadn't been so lame. Someone that cool should've had a way better demise.

I really never liked the concept of Section 31, so really 3 episodes was enough for me. I will agree that the whole "brain death" thing was lame as all heck though.

In no particular order:
Lwaxana Troi (I just found out that she was originally intended to have a recurring role that was on par with characters like Rom and Nog, which would've been awesome)
Dukat
Winn Adami
Martok
Damar

In order:

1) Dukat and Damar (no way I can split them, and these are my top two
characters of the entire cast including regulars)
2) Weyoun
3) Keevan (the other named Vorta; only on twice but great impact)
4) Martok
5) hurray for Rom! (though Moogie isn't bad either)

... I'm hearing a lot of people ask, what, no Garak? Don't get me wrong; fantastic role, great actor, and I loved how he interacted with the other characters. But the character itself just annoys me.

Given, as I've read above, that Garak doesn't count, here are my top 5:

1. Weyoun
2. Dukat
3. Rom
4. Martok
5. Lita

I couldn't narrow my list down to five, but I'd like to throw Gowron into the group.

...plus honourable mention on my part for Bareil.
He was played with a great quiet dignity, but at the same time a slightly irreverent sense of humor right under the surface that prevented him looking stuffy.
Loved the way he refused to let Winn wind him up and would have made a nice marital match for Kira.

I'd say the original post's five probably line up with my own... but they would likely change from time to time. Damar also had some really good moments.

Weyoun
Dukat
Martok
Nog
Garak

In order

Martok - Best Klingon ever written

Garek - Best Cardassian ever written

Wayoun - Best Vorta ever written

Nog - Not the best Ferangi ever written but man his character journey is one of the most underrated arcs in the series

Gul Dukat - In the first and second seasons he was the best Cardassian written.

1. Garak
2. Dukat
3. Martok
4. Damar
5. Weyoun

Special shout out to Grand Nagus Zek and, of course, Morn.
