I literally just 15min ago did a mostly blind buy at Amazon.com.
I purchased the entire 10 season box set of Stargate SG-1 for $104.00 total after shipping.
I say mostly blind buy cause I've seen less than a dozen episodes of the show till now. I figure it'll take me awhile to get through it all. I'm going to make it a 2010 goal to finish. I'll have roughly $10 in each season. Worst case scenario I could sell it off and get back 30-50% of my money if I don't like it, which I'm not anticipating but we'll see.
It was a toss up between this and Farscape for the same price. If Farscape holds its price I'll get it next month.
^ *sternly reminds herself that she is curbing her spending*
That's a very good deal! If you sold them off later, you could get more than your money back, especially if you split up the set into individual seasons.
Yum, love mocha. Starbucks mocha frappé... good memories.
Hey, glad to see someone noticed me stopping by. I was watching shows instead of commenting them in sterile arguments, working, and avoiding the latest of the three TBBSers I met IRL.
Captain Craig, isn't sometimes the point of a DVD purchase to get to watch something you'd missed?
Hold on... you bought 10 seasons, or season 10? I guess that price would be steep for just one.
And you should totally get Farscape. Not half as many episodes for the same price, but here it isn't about quantity. And in season 1, episodes are like 54 minutes long.
Exactly. I haven't had cable for the last 6yrs and the times I saw one would be on vacation in a hotel or something. I'm going to play catch up on Stargate SG-1.
I do want Farscape. I've seen about half of that series but not the last and its been so long that the first season will feel all new again. If only $$$ wasn't an issue, oh this cursed economy!
I now own the Star Trek DVD. Also did some Thanksgiving shopping- I have all the ingredients for my contributions to the family dinner: Caramel pecan pie and chess pie.
I had to pick up some drugs at the pharmacy this afternoon. It turned out to be a pretty entertaining experience. Their computer system was down so they could only accept cash or credit (not debit) cards, once they figured out how to make the registers work again. Since I didn't have to work this afternoon and had a credit card with me, I hung around to watch the floor show and it was highly entertaining.
Lets see, the new trek on DVD tuesday.
I got some new basic clothing to replace worn out daily use stuff (couple pairs of pants, shirts, ect)
A new pare of slippers.
and a haircut.
