Yesterday we had a grand day out, so I ended up buying tickets first to see Stonehenge and later in the day to see the Roman baths at, well... Bath. :D

Bath is the greatest. If money was no object I would move there tomorrow. I love the place.

I got a new hard drive today. It's a Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB. :D I'm now up to 2.5TB altogether (not counting my 320GB PS3 drive). ;)

I sold my soul for furniture yesterday. What was left of it, anyway.

I bought a partial bedroom set (bed, mattress, foundation, dresser, night table), a kitchen table, two end tables, two side chairs, and two lamps.

It's going to mean some stiff monthly payments over the next six months, but it'll be worth it to finally stop living like a grad student. Salaried jobs in recession-resistant industries ftw! :techman:

Soon I will finally have a fully-furnished apartment.

I feel so... grown-up.

My new bed was delivered this morning.

It is amazingly comfort...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I once on a whim hopped on a train and went there for the day when I lived down in Wiltshire years ago - and I loved the place. I wandered around for a few hours and didn't want to leave.

That's exactly how I felt when I first got my bed a few months ago. My place is mostly furnished now, but I still love looking through catalogues, stores, and getting inspiration from other people's places.:D

Yep, Bath was a really nice place to visit, and in such a great location too. :)

Today I bought a special comic book: the Official Movie Prequel to Star Trek.

Interesting. Not long after I started buying furniture, I realized that I had no idea what I was doing. I'd been living like a savage for so long that I'd forgotten what a normal, civilized home looked like.

Then, when I was glancing through a book sale at the university, I found a cheap copy of a picture book called Waverly Inspirations, which is all about furnishing and decorating rooms.

Personally, I think the examples they provide are too busy, and too feminine for an old bachelor like myself. But it gave me some very useful guidelines to follow.

So...

Um...

:shifty:

How about those Red Wings?

I bought these really cute recyclable bags at Target to use as a lunch bag. When I use the bigger ones I usually use for toting groceries, I forget and leave them at work and on the weekend I have to use plastic.

These bags were only a dollar.

Stonehenge didn't really impress me much when I saw it, but Bath is an absolutely lovely city. The Roman Baths are beautifully presented too.

Yeah, a nice bed is thing of sheer wonder.

I too loved Bath when I was in England :techman: I could just feel Jane Austen in Bath

I went shopping today! Whooo Hoooo!

From Payless:
  • White sandals with a slight Greek style to them
  • Brown criss-cross leather strappy sandals
From Old Navy:
  • Dark denim capris
  • Brown cotton capris
  • two short sleeve blouses in white and light orange
  • two camis in brown and orange
  • a dark brown tee
I had a blast!

Ok, so technically I think my latest purchase was a gallon of milk, but I still consider my latest purchase to be my brand new Sony FX 1000...

Ok, so that one's not mine because I haven't taken any pictures of mine yet.

I just bought resin grip and body for a "The Cage" style laser pistol. The parts were made from a first-generation casting taken from an actual prop used in making the episode. I'll build the barrel parts and add some lighting. :)
