Eight or so books and a cinema ticket (angels & demons).

I didn't go in with high expectations given the reviews I'd seen, but it was ok

Today, I settled for cream tea for two and a long walk to burn off the clotted cream calories.

Who's the new boyfriend? ;)

No purchases today, but a pair of tickets to T4 (a fun ride) yesterday.

I also recently bought some Taylor spark plug cables for my car, as the stock ones can deteriorate and lead to rough idling. I think a new battery is in the cards soon, too. The old one is pushing its fifth anniversary and the car's been having a bit of trouble cranking lately.

A local book store is closing and all of their books are 40% off, so I picked up a few, in my opinon, good ones...

- In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
- As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner
- The Stranger by Albert Camus
- Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Animal Farm by George Orwell
- The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama

Yay for summer reading! :techman:

A book - Ask And It Is Given: Learning to manifest the law of attraction.

An Abercrombie and Fitch white sueded cotton shirt. I love how their cotton feels.

I sold my soul for furniture yesterday. What was left of it, anyway.

I bought a partial bedroom set (bed, mattress, foundation, dresser, night table), a kitchen table, two end tables, two side chairs, and two lamps.

It's going to mean some stiff monthly payments over the next six months, but it'll be worth it to finally stop living like a grad student. Salaried jobs in recession-resistant industries ftw! :techman:

Soon I will finally have a fully-furnished apartment.

I feel so... grown-up.

I bought groceries in the morning, including everything required to make myself a few glasses of Tom Collins this afternoon. Ah, happy day, lazing in the sunshine...

Funny thing is--I bought the pictures before I bought the furniture.

Which meant that, for a while, I was essentially camping in a half-empty aprtment with nice art on the walls. Then I began to think: "you know--those pictures just don't look right without furniture."

Which, come to think of it, is fairly typical of the ass-backwards way I do everything in life.

My currently slightly inebriated mind is rather fond of the image of you sitting cross-legged in the centre of some spartan cell, puffing thoughtfully on a briar, focused on some obscure Bouguereau and suddenly thinking, "man, what this room really needs is a nice occasional table". :)

A $5 foot long sandwich from Subway.

I hope it was good. I've now got that damn song running through my mind.

Some lumber and casters to make a couple of under-bed storage boxes to go under the kids' beds. I may get a dovetail jig to make the drawers - haven't decided yet.

New blue sheets for our bed.

And Hubby chose the color.

My brainwashing techniques have apparently been successful. He bought a blue car and now blue sheets, without my saying a word.

This weekend I purchased a movie ticket to see Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D for $12 and a paperback copy of Flowers for Algernon for $0.35.
