I bought some fabulous gluten-free madeleines and muffins.

Madeleines? From Laduree, by any chance? I know everyone raves about their macaroons, but I love their madeleines even more. Not quite to a Proustian level of ecstasy, but still!

Mainly because one tends to need a briefcase on more formal occasions like going to meetings or whatever, and having such an eccentric one is the sartorial equivalent of shouting "SOD YOU ALL, I DON'T GIVE A MONKEYS" to everyone else in the room.

But sadly they likely wouldn't have a clue, lol. Except that one guy who will look at you and go, "You bitch, you outbid me on ebay!"

Your purchases or potential ones never cease to make me feel better about my more modest purchases.

I'm actually going to message the bidder who outbid me on the briefcase - anyone willing to spend that amount on case has to be worth finding out a bit more on!

Purchases today - just a citron presse and slice of cheesecake at teatime.

I bought three books - Transmaterial, Transmaterial II and Design Now. I love 1960's era design and architecture and primarily collect books and magazines from that era, but it is nice to see some materials that show that there is some good and interesting work going on currently as well.

Almost completed my Rush collection. Got Rush, Power Windows, and - strangely enough - Snakes & Arrows. (Yeah, I finally got that one. Didn't think I had it in me, did ya?)

Just a pleasant long lunch for me & a colleague. Needed to escape from work for an hour or two because of unpleasant hot muggy heaviness of the place. Sadly, we had to go back in the afternoon. Boy, was I glad to get home and get a shower after work.
