At least with boy shorts you can avoid panty lines.[/quote]

That IS one good thing. I rather like them. Comfy & i haven't had aproblem with "riding" at all.

I think it really has to do with the size and shape of a woman's butt. Some butts can handle them, and some can't. If it's big and round, it's not happening. I go for hipsters and bikinis. I do have one thong, but I rarely wear it. For some reason I don't usually get pantie lines -- even from clothes I'd expect to.

Anyway, I bought a cute pair of Mary Tyler Moore-esque black pinstripe capris. I love them; they're the perfect fit around the waist! I always have trouble with pants, because my hips are wide but my waist is really small, so I always get this big gap in the waistband. These are great, though -- they fit everywhere!

^I have the same problem tsq...tiny waist and round hips...we would have been in perfect style in the 50s!

Went to Chapters:

Blindness by Jose Saramago
Henry and June by Anais Nin
and City of Ashes, part two from 'The Mortal Instrumants' series by Cassandra Clare...Vampires!

This thread has taken an interesting turn into girls' undies. I should have bought a cold shower.

Sorry - for a moment I thought I was posting in the girl's thread!

No, no, nothing to apologise for... ;)

I just impulse-bought some Creed Silver Mountain Water cologne. Having a "buyer's twinge" right now, but it will vanish once the stuff arrives, I'm sure!

Somehow I thought you'd get over it. :D

I'm not familiar with that one but it sounds nice. I'm about halfway through the Chanel #19 parfum I almost missed my flight back from the Virgin Islands in order to buy. Unfortunately, once that's gone it's gone since all they sell here is the Eau de Toilette. :(

It's finally arrived!

Weird that they don't sell the Eau de Parfum in the USA (I just tried a couple of reputable US fragrance online shops and couldn't find it there either). If you run out (and have paypal) I'd be happy to buy it here on your behalf and mail it over. It's easily available over here eg here

I got the Creed Silver Mountain Water in the mail today.

Oh. My. God.

It's magical. Truly, utterly, magical. This was a complete blind buy, based on a recommendation but I hadn't sniffed it before. Very risky thing to do. But I'm so delighted to have taken such a wild chance, because it's easily my new favourite. As soon as I put it on, I started chuckling with delight. Literally, I was chuckling to myself for about ten seconds, from the sheer fun of it.

For those who know their wines as well as their scents, I'd the smell of Creed SMW is like a cross between a Valpolicella and a Pomerol, with the light floral violet nose of the former then backed up by hefty blackcurrants, tea and a hidden, very pure, tobacco and almost woody note.

Ever read A Midsummer Night's Dream? This smells like I always imagined the flower would be that Puck uses.

Finally, after a few hours of wearing, you also notice the vaguest hint of money. You know that slightly "clean" smell that fresh, crisp, newly dispensed banknotes have? THIS has that. Just a trace. But enough to add wonderfully to the overall scent.

What's especially lovely is that the rare combination of hanging VERY close to the skin BUT also having good sillage. From a foot or two away you wouldn't be able to smell it... but remarkably, when you return to a room again after being out for a little while, you can just detect it very lightly, almost ethereally, in the air.

Brilliantly, brilliantly designed fragrance.

You don't know how tempted I am to never wear any other scent and make this my signature. But then the magic would wear off. So it needs to be used carefully, when I need a special lift in the morning to brighten up the day, or for a special night out.

It's a lighter scent, so ideal for summer... but there's enough about it that I think it will work on any bright and sunny day, even in winter. Or anytime when there's laughter in the air!

Nice! :techman:

It is!

There's a built-in GPS receiver, but no real software for it - Google Maps doesn't count, as I don't have/want an internet connection for my cell phone - but I found this open source program called TrekBuddy (teehee, how appropriate!) and another piece of software to download and convert Google Maps to off-line maps that can be used with Trekbuddy. So I have a fully functional cellphone-GPS unit, yay! =D

Today I bought a 2gb Memory Stick Micro for the phone, and a board game:

I use TomTom Navigator with the GPS unit in my phone and they work very nicely together. Plus, you can also then subscribe to their Traffic service for a pretty minimal annual fee which allows you to automatically download traffic data, so the program reroutes you on the fly around traffic jams and roadblocks. Very useful!

In any case, you'll be amazed how often you end up using the GPS facility now you have it. I love having it on the phone. I notice that the new iPhone also has it now too.

Went lingerie shopping...2 nighties and 5 undies...won't describe in detail though ;)

Also got the novelizaton of The Tudors second season, which I haven't seen yet :techman:
