What did they do, change the styling? I have that model, but it doesn't look like that.
Good catch. I meant to type BDP-S350. I also looked at an Insignia player which ran a fairly reasonable $275.00, a sight cheaper than the $2,500 players I saw when I first stated looking. We're within shouting distance of the $150.00 player. And that's when this will take off ... assuming the price of disks come down comparably.
Where's a good place to get decent price disks?
I get most of mine from Best Buy and Amazon.
Also, I have heard talk about some studios, such as Paramount, offering rebates: a program where if you send them the Proof of Purchase from a Paramount DVD, plus one from its equivalent Blu-Ray (for example: Transformers, due on BR in just a week or so), they will rebate you. I don't know exactly when this will start, but keep checking thedigitalbits.com (a great source of info for stuff like this).
And Criterion will be offering a flat-out *exchange* program: You send them a Criterion DVD and $20, they send you the BR version.
