I had an expensive day today, here's what I got:
- optical audio cable (7€ - $10)
- HDMI cable (10€ - $13)
- Playstation 3 starter pack which contains a 60GB HDD, an extra controller, Motorstorm and Resistance (500€ - $650)
- extended 6-year warranty for the PS3 (75€ - $100)

you do know that the HDMI cable you bought won't work for BD like it should right?

What the hell are you talking about? I've been using it for eight months now and it's been working just fine.

Yeah, I'd like to hear an explanation too, actually. Although I suspect there isn't one; there isn't a HDMI cable that *won't* work with Blu-Ray.

The versions of HDMI have nothing to do with Blu-Ray support. All such versions, even back to 1.0, will work.

What the hell are you talking about? I've been using it for eight months now and it's been working just fine.

if your running a 1080P HDTV and your cable can't run at least 4.95-6.68Gbps you may not be seeing or hearing the best pic/sound you can... if you've got 720P then no worries. And YES it does matter.
