I cashed in my birthday gift coupons and ordered some books:

  • The Jolly Rogers: The Story of Tom Blackburn and Navy Fighting Squadron VF-17
  • The Battle of Britain: A Day to Day Chronicle
  • Ready for friend and foe, the History of Leeuwarden Airbase (Dutch)
  • 100 years of Aviation at Gilze-Rijen Airbase (Dutch)
  • The History of Naval Air Station Valkenburg (Dutch)
The last three are publications of the NIMH (Dutch Institute for Military History)

I found some 100% chocolate at Borough market today. It's like nothing I've tried before. It's a bit... weird. Extremely full of flavour, just a tad more bitter than an 85%, all in all a very exotic experience.

Sweeeeeet.....

I SOOOO want that, but hubby would never allow it, since we have the seasons individually. :(

:( I am not trying to rub it in or anything but... I love mine. Love it. Love it. Love it. Best money I spent all summer. (You could always sell your individual sets and use the cash you get out of them to purchase that bit of awesome there.)

This week's purchase is the second season of Fringe.

This is exactly what I was planning to do, sell my Lost individual season sets and buy the complete Blu-ray series set. I was also planning on doing the same with my Battlestar Galactica and 24 DVDs, but then I lost my job a few days after I started preparing them to be taken to a nearby store that buys such things... Now they're all sitting in boxes in case I need to sell them for money for my checking account instead. Sigh.

Red Baron frozen pizza for dinner.

As for that Lost set... :wtf: Can the part that actually holds the discs be taken out and put on a shelf with the rest of one's DVD collection?

Well, not really. The DVD box inside the outer case is very... tall... compared to a standard slip case. But to be honest the set was never meant to be stacked on a shelf. It is definitely for a collector or an uber-fan who wants something to display. (Which I am.)

I had contemplated getting that but couldn't figure out if there were any extras in the TF boxset that weren't there in just the single season boxes. Are there?

My latest was $50 in comics & TPB's at a local comic book show yesterday
Also, via Amazon got Community S1 which is going to be a X-mas gift and some neck lanyards for USB flash drives.

I bought a translation of Dante's Inferno and a copy of God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens.

I've been toying with the idea of reading Hitchens, but as a confirmed atheist, I'm not sure I'll find anything in his books that I don't already know.

When you've finished it, I'd be interested in hearing your opinion.

^ None of which I care about, really. It's a hobby of mine - I collect baseball games on DVD, *regardless* of who's playing. Hell, I already put in a preorder for the 2010 World Series, and we don't even know who's gonna be IN it yet.
