I sorta gave up looking for a new watch a while back and then found this used Pulsar in a display case at a store specializing in 50-70s paraphernalia. The price and the color was right.
Nice watch, hows the action on it? I've seen a few old and beautiful watches in Catholic Charities and thrift shops around here, but I've always stop myself from buying them. 1) I'm worried about the whole "to good to be true", don't want to spend a lot getting an old watch refurbished 2) To me a watch is a very personal sort of thing and it would feel...wrong...odd...hard to explain...to wear one that belonged to someone else.
The watch is working great... did have to buy a new battery for it. I have no problem buying things second hand (even a watch) but I am rather particular about the cosmetic condition of such things. I sort of collect flip digit clocks from about 40 years ago... seldom do I even consider one unless it is nearly pristine.... or will be after I clean it.
Oh I generally don't have a problem going with second hand, just watches and jewelery...always something about that just didn't sit right. Never know way.

I've had several gift cards sitting around for over a year now, and I was thinking about spending part of one on this purse. Ladies (or men), any opinions?
I gotta go with a thumbs down on that purse.
For some reason the big pic isn't showing up for me.
From the small thumbnails, I like the colour/shape, but embossed croc doesn't really grab me as it's always really obvious that it's embossed and not genuine.
I figure one should either go for the real thing or go for a more "honest" design. I forget which architect talked about being honest about materials used (Ruskin?) but while I don't subscribe fully to those ideals, I think there's a kernel of aesthetic truth there.
I have a pair of mock-crocodile shoes I can barely wear these days, since I got a pair of real crocodile ones. The difference is too psychologically profound.
The black one does not look so bad. Very similar to the one I have (but way less blingy
)The red one I would not choose for myself.
ha ha.. edit. The bag looks nothing the same.. My memory really does not serve me well. Excuse the very poor white brightness and mushyness of the bag. I rushed AA to take the picture.

22 inch screen for my new computer ... definitely takes some getting used to after 4 years behind a 15 inch laptop.
