Two basil plants, potting soil, and insecticide to get rid of all the damn wasp & hornet nests that are cropping up around the front yard.

I bought sweet things. They have such a simple and magical effect on people...

Wandering around in my lunch break, I bought a big box of Millie's Cookies for the staff on the ward plus a selection box of Thorntons chocs for one of their birthdays. You should have seen all their faces light up at the cookies when I got back to work and the girl whose birthday it was even flushed a little with happiness when I gave her the chocs! Everyone was suddenly a little more cheery for the afternoon. Faster and better than any antidepressant I can prescribe... should get them on the drug formulary, really...

Yesterday picked up 'STII:TWOK Special Collectors Edition' 2-disc DVD for $4. and 'Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace' 2-disc DVD for $6. at a used electronics, videogames, and DVD store.

I got the SW Ep.I for the sole reason of watching The Beginning: Making Episode I documentary (66 mins) from 600 Hours of behind-the-scenes video. It has NO narration and truly Cinéma vérité "fly on the wall" documentary style of old-school documentary filmmakers.
a reviewer for dvdreview.com mentions
the best behind-the-scenes documentary I have ever seen, mostly due to its unparalleled intimacy.
and also on the disc the 75 minutes of additional 'web documentaries' just in case that wasn't enough.

If you haven't seen The Beginning: Making Episode I you really need to borrow the 2nd disc from a friend [even if you disliked the film] to see how a documentary about the making of a feature film COULD be done over 5 years.

I only wish a Star Trek film could be covered with this much depth in behind-the-scenes.
I wonder if Paramount even started shooting a documentary around February 23, 2007 when J.J. Abrams was officially announced as he signed on to direct the next installment of the "Star Trek" feature franchise. It's possible we will get a one-hour documentary on the STXI Blu-ray/DVD...

Just preordered my Halloween costume for this year.

It's gonna be awesome!
Now, why doesn't your choice surprise me?

:D

Well, this is me we're talking about.

You do realise pics from you will be mandatory come Halloween? ;)

Oh yeah, it's one of the very few special features I can rewatch time & again.

Bought especially for the movie! Bar Trek:

:D

Every time I see a picture of you, I'm struck by how much you resemble the women on my mother's side of the family. The geek gene comes through that side too.....I'm really left wondering if we might have a few ancestors in common here....

Got a DST TOS Communicator through the mail yesterday.

Tis an awesome thing, but the bloody buttons have popped up and dont work half the time anymore. Anyone know how to fix this?
