Your latest purchases

^ Oh ye of little faith (but much knowledge & wisdom, I suspect!)

One of the clothes boards I read is doing a sign-up thread for those deciding to spend money on clothes in March, and a naming & shaming if (when!) we break our pledge. Given there's also a Latest Purchases type thread there, it's easy to check.

I signed up. Buying to sell is still allowed, as is having outstanding orders (phew!). Just no new items/orders for yourself during March. I'm going for it! :D

Well I was originally going to bet against you but now I'm thinking if you pull this off I could get a really nice return by betting for you. :D

A co-worker and I bought $400 worth of baseball tickets! Time to get people to pay me back.

I'm also verging on the purchase of a Hamilton 4992b pocket watch to console myself after The (former) Lady told me she didn't want to see me any more. That said, I am playing with the notion of giving her a call to clear the air, as the text message exchange was awkward...and a bit lame.

I went to Circuit City to see what they had left and the store had already closed down. Apparently this is the final week if you have any near you.

So I bought some shirts from the mall instead.

I should bet on myself.

I'd probably still cave in at some point... :(

Well I hope you don't cave because I plan to clean up if you don't. What you need is just as big an incentive. What do you want more than clothes? There has to be something - a really pricey bottle of wine perhaps? If you make it through March then you should just go and get it. :D

I saw that too yesterday. I still wanted a camera. :(

I wouldn't call if I were you. Only going to layer more awkwardness on top. Give it all some time.

I like your thinking. Hmm, maybe dinner at Le Manoir might be a suitable motivational tool....

After my shirt-ordering blow-out yesterday, I'm on a clothes-buying moratorium for the rest of March. Will I make it? Place your bets now, ladies & gentlemen! :D

Will you make it? I vote no. :p

I bought some chocolate today. :D

Thanks for the vote of confidence... :p

Give me chocolate by way of apology. :D

I bought more beer today after checking the markets.

Amen to this.

I purchased a €50 suit (colbert & trousers) for my job interview tomorrow.
Now how do I tie a tie. :vulcan:

Your dutch is showing. ;)

Colbert = jacket.

Good luck with the interview!

Now how do I tie a tie. :vulcan:

Seriously? If so, the simplest knot is a four-in-hand. Google will probably find you some videos. If the tie is quite long (and you're shorter), you might want to try a half-windsor. I'd avoid a full windsor for a job interview, personally.

Thank you, it was on sale too! :D

w00t, I just did a half-windsor! Now I must try to perfect my creation! :)
