I got a really nice cactus (almost 2' tall) for my mom for x-mas today. I also got a ton of ornaments for our tree.

I bought:

Carcassonne: King & Scout
Carcassonne: The Princess & The Dragon
Carcassonne: Traders & Builders

for myself.

And some presents for my mother, nephew and friends :)

I used to have quite a little collection of cacti when I was a kid. Yeah, pretty weird (you can at least act surprised) but they looked cool. Used to know all the names and everything.

What kind did you get?

You know, I have no idea. ;) My mom has quite a collection of cacti as well, so she could probably tell you what kind it is. I can describe it though. ;) Like I said, it's about 2' tell. Just one part, and it's pretty narrow (less then 4" in diameter). That's about it lol. I know absolutely nothing about cacti.

Today I went to Borough Market near London Bridge for Christmas food shopping:

2 x small Venison Haunches for Christmas day (with which I am having a bottle of 1997 Barolo RRP £75)

4 x small 25-day aged lamb chops (to go with a bottle of 2004 Dolcetto from Piedmonte RRP £15)

2 x Sea Bream and 4 x Tiger Prawns (to go with a bottle of Winkel Sauvignon Blanc from Austria RRP £12)

1 x chicken breast parcel (for two servings) stuffed with wild boar and wild garlic, coated in chili and coriander (to go with a bottle of Austrian Gruner Veltliner RRP £15)

Rule number one when trying to match food and wine... buy the WINE first ;)

Hugo - going back next week to buy some cheeses to go with his 1997 Suduiraut Sauternes (RRP £30), and some chocolates to go with his 1997 Chapoutier Banyuls (red dessert wine from the Rhone RRP £20) :D

With a picture I could probably tell you too, lol.

I collect succulents, not cacti (less dangerous!), but my mom goes crazy for cacti.

Bought more dog food, cat food, and various leashes for the local shelter today!

^ Yeah, I have no idea what the difference between a succulent and a cactus is. And I can't take a picture of the one I got cos it's wrapped. I tried finding a similar pic online, but I couldn't find anything useful.
