Your favourite TV show ever?

There was a time I'd have answered DS9, Doctor Who, and Life on Mars. I've seen quite a bit but not all of The X-Files, and looking at some later episodes it seemed to devalue its currency a bit (much as with new Who).

If you asked me right now, I'd have to say Lovejoy.

I forgot to add Frasier. That was good. Though now I'm thinking of sitcoms, Peep Show, The Thick of It and Hancock's Half Hour are all in with a shot too.

"Batman: The Animated Series".

I still love most of the animated shows that I enjoyed as a kid, but this is the only one I am still in awe of when I watch its best episodes. No matter how old I get, it will always captivate me in a profound way that no other show can. The greatest episodes feel like movies, and not just any movies, but masterpieces of their genre.

In its best episodes, the writing, acting, and direction are so unique and brilliant, as is the attention to detail and beauty in its drawings and animation. Like all TV series, there are times when its attributes are sub par (or even poor), but when the show is firing on all cylinders, it's just transcendent.

My favourite show that most people here know about would be Angel. My real favourite show is One Piece.

I'm also rather fond of Battlestar Galactica, Red Dwarf, and (of course) Star Trek. Dexter had a chance in its first two years, but has pretty consistently blown it during the last three.
