Your Favorite TV Show That Was Cancelled

Alien Nation was short-lived series that I really enjoyed. It was brought back for a series of five telemovies and a number of follow-up novels, but I would have preferred a second season.

Farscape, of course, though it did get a wrap-up in the form of the miniseries--just not the longer wrap-up that would have left the series much more complete.

SeaQuest and Sliders. Both started strong and degenerated into garbage by the time their first seasons were over. the remainder of both series was nothing but beating a dead horse.

Farscape. It had a respectable run, but should have gone two or three seasons longer.

Terminator. The addition of the pointless (and annoying) women in season 2 ruined this show. Although I DID like the girl from Razor. The other three new ones were stupid. Particularly the neighbor.

Enterprise. Just as it was finally getting good, it got canceled.

Firefly. I still don' know why this one was canceled.

Oh, my, let's see:

Survivors-remake-I was having so much fun, had the finale on DVR-and found out it wasn't being picked up.

Journeyman-a sweet show that was slowly evolving into thinking man's tv-and away it went. The final scene was very poignant and showed just how strong it could have been.

Jeremiah-truncated by a pissed-off creator and inept execs, this show had created a fascinating character(Mr. Smith) and went down before we could explore him enough, imo.

Space: AAB-I was so excited for this show-and the competition killed it. Bad night to put it on-Sunday vs (Voyager? I think that was the Trek it faced off with, possibly DS-9, I don't recall now)

Eli Stone
-I loved this show for all of its quirkyness and the excellent cast. And then it was gone...

4400-I can't help but feel there was another season still in there, dammit!

Terminator-don't get me started. When I realized that's how it ended I was furious

The Unusuals
-I would watch this late at night by myself off the DVR after the wife went to bed. She didn't get it but I loved it. When it canceled I was like "WTF? WHY?"

Studio 60-loved it, made me think and then POOF, it was gone

I just thought of another one: Nowhere Man, the show that followed Voyager on UPN during it's second season. A fine mystery series that hooked me from the begining, and just got better as it went along, then ended on a cliffhanger with a twist.

Shows that were cancelled by bad, incoherent writing long before the Neilsens made it official: Heroes, Twin Peaks.

Shows that were cancelled/ended at the right time: Lost, BSG, Farscape, DS9, B5.

Shows that were cancelled when they still had a lot of untapped potential: Firefly, Carnivale, Invasion, Miracles, ENT.

Jericho

Star Trek: Enterprise

Pushing Daisies

No love for Cop Rock? I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I tell you. :(

 Seriously, you gotta give them one thing: No one had ever thought of doing a cop musical. And some of the songs weren't half bad, either.

"Has the jury reached a verdict? ... HIT IT!" :guffaw:

I really liked Cop Rock, but then I'm a fan of bluesy rock, which was their main staple.

Millennium: despite the fact that I liked the last season the least, canceling it before 2000 was criminal.

Not sure about the writing complaint on Heroes, but I was watching it more for the "Superpowers sans spandex and secret identities" aspect.

Ones in that last category for me:Moonlight, New Amsterdam . Such novel premises for both, at least to this consumer of the standard issue TV fare (cops, doctors, and lawyers).

I guess I'm lucky. The only shows that I watch these days hadn't gotten get cancelled. LOST ended, Fringe is still going, and the CW probably wants Supernatural to go for as long as possible.

Angel. It had a fitting ending. It was probably best that it ended in season 5 when it was still good. At least it didn't become as bad as how Buffy got in season 6 and 7.

Crusade. I wish that it hadn't been canceled before it even got on the air.

SeaQuest 2032- I really liked Michael Ironside as the captain. It should at least have been given a full season. It was a big improvement over the season before.

Jericho. Was getting better right up to the end.

Now and Again. I really hate when they leave shows on cliffhangers.

Northern Exposure and Moonlighting. I was upset that these show were cancelled but they both really should have been canned before their last season while they were still good.

TOS
Enterprise
Did Quantum Leap get cancelled, or was it planned?
Better off Ted
Northern Exsposure was awsome
Robot Chicken gets cancelled every year;)
Family Guy
Futrama
Greatest American Hero

New Amsterdam. Could have been very good.
Star Trek: Enterprise. Was getting there, s5 could have been great.
John Doe. THIS. Cancelled WAY too soon, great characters, intriguing story arc.
Defying Gravity. Not a great show but I was keen to see where it would have ended.

Joan of Arcadia. The second season was largely slow but towards the end it looked like it was going in a really dark and interesting direction.
