Kirk/Spock/McCoy will always be the best in my eyes. O'Brien and Bashir would come in second. Archer and Tucker would come in third.

I had to go with Bashir and O'Brien. Its the best buddy relationship Trek ever managed.

Sisko and Dax would be next (both Jadzia and Ezri).

One that I was disappointed with over time was Janeway and Tuvok, as it started off being an important relationship in S1 and S2, but then seemed to fade away and vanish by the end of the series.

Bashir/O'Brien for me too. Riker/Worf comes a close second, then Jake/Nog. I also quite like Kes/The Doctor. Come to think of it, I'm not too keen on Seven in general, but I do like her growing friendship with Janeway.

I voted Kirk/Spock. Other than Sisko/Dax the rest spent too much time on the holodeck.

The pair I would most want to hang out with? - Bar hopping with Trip/Reed.

Bashir and O'Brien really. They didn't know about each other, they first meet on the station and their friendship evolves from there.

According to fanfic, none of these relationships were platonic.

Yeah, but fanfic authors will ship anything that moves. Or doesn't move. There's probably a fanfic about Devolved Spider Barclay and Australopithecus Riker having a three-way with an impulse manifold. :ack:

I voted O'Brien and Bashir. I loved the evolution of their friendship. The relationship grew from two vastly different personalities that simply did not gel to a meaningful, real friendship. Yaye for character growth!

Spock and Kirk were great, I could do without McCoy.

Kes and the EMH were good though that didn't last long.

Dax and Kira were good as well.

So, no EMH and Seven fans? I thought it was a terrific friendship, they taught each other and explored so much about being "Human".

Of course Kirk/Spock/McCoy and Bashir/O'Bbrien were also great, it's just surprising 3 pages in, I don't believe there was a single mention of EMH/Seven

I considered mentioning them in my previous post, but the OP was specifically asking for platonic relationships. Thus, 'ships like Kira/Odo, Doc/7of9 are out. Even if they weren't together for the whole series or even really a part of it, romantic undertones existed.

I admit, they definitely seemed to be heading towards a romance (and I missed alot of later Voyager after S3), but, I don't recall noticing an actual romantic relationship ever materialized, and then of course, out of nowhere they hooked her up with Chakotay :cardie:.

Did an actual romance ever materialize between them, or did it never go any further than just hanging out and learning about their humanity from each other? The most I remember seeing was them dancing

Kira/Odo, yea, absolutely off the table, they were an actual declared and shown romance

Yeah, that Chakotay angle was complete bull.

The Doctor professed his love for Seven in "Renaissance Man" when he thought he was going to die, and got caught daydreaming about her in "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy". He first fell in love with her while teaching her to dance in "Someone to Watch Over Me". She never reciprocated those feelings, but he was clearly in love with her.
