Your annual vacation/holidays

Had to put the kibosh on my trip to see the new Rangers ballpark. :(

The reason is that there was a lot of labor unrest surrounding this year's baseball season (because of the players lockout). Nobody knew when the season was going to start - fortunately, it only ended up getting delayed a week, but nonetheless not enough people were booking the tour I was going to take, so I had to put off my trip to see Globe Life Field. Again. This is the third year in a row I've had to do that! :sigh:

(I can't go on my own, since there is no mass transit in Arlington, TX where the ballpark is. There is a hotel right next door, but probably way too expensive, plus I don't want to just sit around in a :censored:ing hotel room for a week!)

But all is not lost, I will be going to Chicago instead. I leave a week from Friday!

Going to see three Whitesox games (against my Yankees! ), six Cubs games, and just enjoying the hell out of the city of Chicago.

Heading out to Seattle tomorrow.

(Not a Mariners fan as such, but I like their ballpark, and I love the city of Seattle very much)

And I just heard that the US has, as of tomorrow, dropped their testing requirements at the border. So I should be able to visit Canada again next year! W00t!

I usually have an annual trip to visit friends in China but sadly that is not happening at the moment due to COVID. Post COVID I also regularly enjoyed visiting Europe and Thailand/Malaysia/Indonesia etc. The Middle East is super cool too. I’m hoping that my next big holiday will be a trip to explore India and do loads of yoga over there which I had planned to do before COVID ruined things! :D

I might never get out of this god forsaken country again though at this rate! Besides pandemics and politics, it’s all becoming a bit cost prohibitive to be honest.

I just got back from Orlando where I spent two days at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. Also spent two days playing putt putt, walking around Disney Springs (bought the Lego Ecto-1  ) and ate some REALLY good food. Also tried oysters for the first time at the Boat House. Yum!

Sadly, I've arrived back in Kentucky, where I will have two more days off before going back to work :sigh:

Yesterday I came back from my trip to Austria. Mountains, nice weather, bathing and delicious food.... I feel quite relaxed now.

I hereby take back everything bad I have ever said about the city of Philadelphia.

In the past I have had some very nasty things to say about Philly but I regret all of it. I had a GREAT time when I was in Philly last week, and I promise I'll never insult it again!

True, I wasn't a visiting fan, as such (the Phillies were playing the Braves) but there were a lot of Atlanta fans there, and nobody was giving them any grief.

Plus, Philly has THE nicest Marriott I have ever stayed in. So that's also a plus!

Only caveat was, I ate too much. WAY too many cheesesteaks. :alienblush:

I also had a good time in Baltimore of course. I'm not ragging on it either. (Crab cakes on cheeseburgers! It's a thing!) Even though Baltimore's Amtrak station kind of sucks.

As I work from home I can take vacations whenever I want. Currently I am planning a road trip with several acquaintances to New Mexico with the return leg through Utah (via Colorado and the “Million Dollar Highway”).

TGT

I was planning on going back to the Oktoberfest next year but I think I will do another trip to the Calgary Stampede instead. It's been longer since I've done that.

And now that I can return to Canada, I figure I might as well go all in!

Tomorrow I'll travel to Austria again, for several relaxing days. The weather's going to be fine. I need some time of wellness and great food....

Going to visit a feathered friend between the end of November and beginning of December, and then in January I'm going to Anthro New England.

I'm super stoked about my vacations this summer because I get to see TWO Yankees/Red Sox series. One in Boston and one in New York.

And it's a friendly rivalry (I honestly think Red Sox fans are some of the coolest I've ever met) so that makes it extra fun.

I don't do vacation tripping.
Only thing that's something like a vacation is the annual summer thing when my friend has a vacation and comes to his summer cabin and visiting there is enough.
It's about 28km from where I live.
Not that far.
Nice to come home at night.
