There was never any confusion. You were always Baba, teh baba was always teh baba (he didn't capitalize until after your change back to MLB) and never the twain did meet in anyone's perception. After all, it's not as if there's the slightest similarity between your posting styles or topic choices, was there?

I wasn't that familiar with his posting style. If he has a reputation of sorts, I'm not aware of it.

Besides, if I remember correctly, when I started using the B-word, he was calling himself Capt_Adama.

That was in 2005; he'd already been baba in at least two or three incarnations before that - baba1393 back around the time I registered. But you've had all this explained before, and I'm quitting before the thread gets sidetracked any further.

I've thought about changing my user name to Gryffindorian, but I'm cool with the one I have now. I've used Drone for many years now, and back then I wanted something Trek-sounding. I've also used different nicknames for Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and various email accounts.

My name elsewhere was, apparently one character, longer than these boards would allow.

Both of those reflecting where I live, though a little on the dumb side.

When I reach Captain, I'll might change my name to ScorchedRain.

EDIT: maybe not, it's already in use elsewhere on the 'net.

Since I reached Captain, I figured my new user-name should be the usual shortening of my name elsewhere.

I used "madmatthias" in way too many places, you can do a quick google search and learn almost all of my interests...

Therefore in the spirit of Trek, i've changed my name on the board to "Captain M" (not the most original, but something unique none the less)

Sakrysta has pretty much been the name of choice since the internet. I had Lady Ardra as an AOL screen name in the early years. I was The Rowan for a couple weeks on TerranBBS. I wouldn't mind being Menolly or Emony. But I'm quite fond of Sakrysta, and I don't think I'll change.

Oh, and I had a dual here called Aminni, back when another dual needed "outing." Only used it for that, though.

In spite of the mini-necro, I'll post anyway, since I realize I've never posted in this thread.

When I first joined, I picked something Trek related because I couldn't think of anything else and it seemed appropriate (actually, I registered on a different forum, but the name followed me here). Since then, I've thought about trying to distance myself from the name, but I really don't have anything better. Plus, I figure I'd just confuse people more than anything if I changed.

I settled on Captain Craig after having some other usernames at various comic/movie/tv boards. I tried going back and changing old usernames but either got locked out for inactive use or banned. The banned ones were odd cause I went to a Transformers board I hadn't posted at in nearly 2yrs and it just said 'This IP has been banned blah blah blah', I figured they just didn't have another way of closing out inactive accounts.

When I came here in '03 I picked Captain Craig and from then on have used that handle at every board I've signed up. I use it at Marvel Comics, DC Comics, BoxOfficeMojo, RotenTomatoes, AICN(although I haven't posted there in over a year), USAToday, Cinescape and Mayhem.

Let's see, about 15 years ago I started out on a Babylon 5 chat board with the handle 'Dark Soul'. I got tired of people asking me if I was a Satanist, so I went and changed my handle to 'Grey Soul'. Then met a lady that I thought I wanted to marry and changed again to Bright Soul. 5 years after that when we broke up, I changed again to 'Rebel Soul', which is what I originally registered here as something like 7 years ago. Then got religious and started using Theophilus as my main user name. Then a couple of years ago I started coming back to this place and just on a whim I used my current name.
