As I recall that was a list of the most re-watched episodes, which is not quite the same thing as being the most watched show. It may be that people are inclined to do more comprehensive re-watches of the other series, for instance because of the greater serialisation of DS9 or more consistent quality, whereas they would tend to just pick out a few favourites from Voyager.

The way I understand it in regards to Netflix, TOS and TNG are popular, while DS9 and VOY get more repeat customers.

Could be. I recall the popular episodes were The Caretaker and Endgame, so maybe they watch the first and just skip forwards to see if they got home or not... still, it has fans.

We only have the scant data we were given:

https://www.businessinsider.com/mos...-on-netflix-2017-9#1-endgame-parts-1-and-2-10

At least according to this, DS9 didn't enter the top 10, neither did ENT, TOS or TAS, but it's a very small data pool and doesn't give anything near a complete picture.

It really would be nice if someone from Netflix would release the viewership data of TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY & ENT so that we know where all 700+ episodes of Star Trek are ranks. Not just the top ten.

These shows aren’t in production anymore and haven’t for 15+ years. There should not be anything wrong in sharing how much viewership and repeat customers they get, and have gotten, over the last several years.

I think 1994/5 was Trek at it's peak in terms of Mainstream appeal (same as X Files). Generations was heavily promoted and was on the cover of tons of magazines, there were puff peices everywhere. And I I know First Contact did well, but Trek on TV never really recovered to TNG levels. Mind you, ST09 and STID had a truck load of hype and press coverage too.

Two. Looks like P+ is folding. Every current/most recent season is a show's last.

^^^
S5 is it's last only because Kevin Costner is being a prima donna; but the whole 'Yellowstone Universe' is making them money, bringing in subscribers and they are expanding it. Plus I sincerely doubt SNW S3 will be the shows last season, and they're ramping up a new Star Trek live action series 'StarFleet Academy' and have a streaming Section 31 feature film with Oscar Winning actress Michelle Yeoh signed.

So yeah, I say your evaluation falls short.

That is good news vor Yellowstone franchise fans.
With DSC suddenly concluded at season 5, PRO written off for a tax scam, and the streaming bubble bursting, I have given up hope that any new Trek is getting produced. There'll be no SFA and no "announced since 2017" S31. We are approaching another 2005 situation where the last episode of the most recent released season will be another temporary curtain call for the franchise.

And that's...bad...?

Let's say that Paramount and Trek magically get a dragon's hoard of money beamed in out of nowhere. With the recent revelation that SNW S2 is still in 2259 (per the first Rigel mission still being described as 5 years ago, and Memory Alpha has adjusted accordingly), and assuming that they go 2 seasons per in-universe year, SNW would have to be in its 13th season to even reach 2265, when Kirk canonically takes command...

It doesn’t inspire confidence that SNW isn’t in the top-10 most-watched shows on P+ In the US over the last few days - yet Picard is.

i thought my estimate of three seasons was a little pessimistic; now I’m not overly sure it’ll get there.

You mean Picard season 3; and that's a big factor. P+ can't do anything like Picard season 3 again in the 25th Century era that will bring in the numbers that Picard season 3 did.

Do you understand that no studio can meaningfully make announcements about future production during a writer's strike and the possibility of an upcoming actor's strike?

I have no idea how long it will last but I do know I'm going to hopefully enjoy it up to the last episode of the series.

Now that we have to factor in an actors strike and the fact that the studios seem willing to wait out the sides….I’m feeling more confident in my 3 seasons and out prediction. Especially if SNW S3 doesn’t hit until late 2024/early 2025.

The only way I see SNW not getting that third season is outside forces beyond the control of the show eg: strikes or network closing. It will not be due to lack of interest.
