The Prime Universe hasn't gone anywhere, nor is it likely to in the near future.
And so what if the novels aren't "cannnon?" There is a lot of really fine material there. A good story is a good story, period.

The only franchise I enjoy without continuity is James Bond. And even there I get great kicks out of references.
But for everything else, continuity is a big part of the enjoyment. Highlander, the later Superman sequels, etc... never did anything for me. I draw a huge amount of enjoyment out of the Marvel movies and Agents of Shield based on the continuity. Same for the Stargate shows.
You don't want Kirk to enter the turbolift with his gold uniform and leave it with his green tunic, you want continuity within one episode. And I also want continuity between episodes.
and you're doing much better than you thought you would.
Would they actually SHOW a prolonged war with the Romulans? How would they make it look different than the Dominion war? Would Valdore (the main Romulan from the "drone" trilogy) have become a recurring badguy? How would they work in having Shran join the crew, as was planned? How would the Trip/T'Pol thing play out? Would Travis finally get something to do?
So much potential... so many questions... (sigh)![]()

That's what the novels are for...(Travis gets plenty to do in the book whose cover is my avatar as of this writing.)
I love the Andorian sexes concept. It takes an interesting looking race and adds something a little more to them, plus the added dimension of a race facing extinction due to the evolution of their method of procreation--it makes them an ultimately far more interesting species. I hope and pray that when we do get a new series this is made canon, that way rather than having a character who was hetero-, homo- or bi- sexual, we'd have one who was tri- (if not even quad-) sexual.Well, there's a lot in the novels I don't really care for like the Daedalus class actually being older than the NX class, or the convoluted Andorian names and genders.
