You grew up in the 80's if...

The thing I remember most about "We Are the World" is being so glad that Prince dropped out, 'cuz Huey Lewis got the part that Prince was supposed to sing. :techman:

In terms of the actual song itself, though, I liked "Sun City" better. It was a lot catchier a song than WATW. Then again, I also remember "Stars"... the heavy metal WATW...

This is really awesome! I especially loved number 31: You thought Barbie and the Rockers was a hot band. I LOVED this doll and had most of them as a child. I also adored Barbie and the Sensations even more so. I was a huge Barbie girl and LOVED the Barbie dolls until I was around 13 or older..:O Did I just say that?! I didn't want to grow up just yet. :D
<snip>
Me too! I forgot about Barbie and the Sensations...so I did a little youtubing and found some music from the Sensations. Me and my sister loved this tape, I have no idea why, we'd dance around to it with our Barbies! I haven't heard this music since the 80s...Still remember it? I did!

I remember trying to get my roommate in off a balcony when he was hammered drunk. He was singing F*** the world, F*** the children

I wonder if they will ever release "Thundarr the Barbarian" and "Muppet Babies" on DVD. :(

I couldn't give a shit about Muppet Babies, which I always thought was just plain condescending, but I would pay good damned money for some Thundarr.

Does anyone remember Pogs? My friends and I would collect those more than Garbage pail kids cards. I still remember my favorite Pog was this black Eight ball...that's embarrassing!

I still have all my pogs in their pog tube, and my slammers. I used to have a slammer pad, but that's gone now.

I wouldn't let my mom throw them out when I went to college, and when I moved to LA I packed them with me.

Thanks Data Holmes.

No mention of parachute pants. Not the MC Hammer baggy ones, the zipper'd shiny pants. I can't believe I owned a pair...

No mention of breakdancing.

Dungeons & Dragons Version 1.0

Middle school girls actually in tears because Simon LeBon got married.

Girls with way too much hairspray(God help me I still love that look)

Deciding which Dance Party USA regular was the hottest(gotta go with Jen Kelly, the sister of the guy who used to date Kelly Ripa)

Phoebe Cates breasts.

When people actually knew how to play the guitar.

NBC's Thursday night line-up.

Some of those are more of early 1990s.

Yeah, I was born in 87 and I could get 8 easily, probably a little more if I wasn't tired.

Fun fact...

The 80s didn't end until 1993. Think about it, that's when the music changed and all the good 80s cartoons and TV shows were off the air to be replaced by mostly garbage.

Well, no, music changed in 1991 when Nirvana released Smells Like Teen Spirit. 80s was hair metal crap (exemplified by the four Bon Jovi questions). As a child of the 90s, I tend to go rose-colored for that decade and old-man for the last one. But it's understandable that you would do otherwise ;)

Yeah, they were pretty big in the early 90s. Then they immediately fell of the face of the earth.

Oh, and I remember the older people who were children of the 80s using sike a lot. Some of them still use it.

Yes some of the stuff was 90s, the point is you didn't watch it unless you were born in the 80s.

I know almost all the TV ones and have no clue what they are talking about on a lot of other stuff. So I'm obliviously an 80s kid.

 I remember feeling that way through most of the '80's.

It WAS my teen years......
