At the beginning of the film, the crew wear TOS (season 3) shirts. For those uniforms, we asked Joseph Kerezman to design the Yorktown shirt badge, and he didn't disappoint!

All of these moon shots were added to the film this week by Neo FX, to make it look like the characters are actually on another planet. Original film grain from the Yorktown film was overlaid across the moons so that they blend in perfectly with the original footage.

Gotta agree here -the visual effects work here is excellent. I expect no less from Neo F/X, but it's really nice to see all the same!

Having escaped capture by the Klingons, a damaged Starfleet reconnaissance probe crashes undetected on the planet Pahl III. Hikaru Sulu, serving as first officer on the retrofitted USS Yorktown, is sent by Admiral Nogura on a secret mission to help locate the missing spy drone. In order to prevent a catastrophic war from igniting with the Klingons, the USS Yorktown (under the command of Captain Bradley Frame) races against time to quickly find the lost drone, with orders to conceal its existence. At the same time, a terrorist group called S.H.A.R.K. discover the drone's location, and plot to steal the device and use it for their own nefarious means.

S.H.A.R.K. = Sol Heritage Armed Resistance Korps. They are a terrorist group that want to drive aliens away from Earth and the Sol star system. All of the S.H.A.R.K. scenes were filmed back in 1985/86.

Thanks for the background info, Captain Atkin. Are you guys doing any "retconning" to tie S.H.A.R.K. back to Peter Weller's character in that Enterprise two parter from season four? Or is S.H.A.R.K. a fringe group of its own?

There is nothing to tie S.H.A.R.K. to Peter Weller's character, John Frederick Paxton, in the film (per say). It does tie in nicely though to the goals that Paxton had in Enterprise. There is one line about Colonel Green being an influence on the S.H.A.R.K. members in the film, so that is certainly one way to tie the two groups together. The core beliefs of both groups were influenced by the same man.

Just got back from a fantastic shoot in Oklahoma. All of the bridge scenes for Yorktown have now been filmed. Was blessed with a fantastic cast and crew who all did an outstanding job on the film. My thanks goes out to all the staff at Starship Studios, who went above and beyond the call of duty for us. It was a weekend none of us will ever forget :)
