Yeah, the blades do spin opposite of each other. I'll have to do another test with them. And to be fair, scientists 300 years ago would probably decide that making a computing device with 128 gigs of memory the size of a finger is impossible.

Saucer panel lines are done:

I have to figure out how to turn down the noise filter, it tends to smooth out the lines sometimes

I love this.

Have often thought that if remaking TOS effects shots, the way to do the Enterprise would be a mix of close up shots that show off human-scale detail and emphasize how big the ship is, and distant shots where the ship is quite small and looks almost the same as it did in TOS originally. The approach you're taking here would be perfect for that.

Oh neat, I totally forgot the original had them.
Yeah, they're pretty faint most of the time.

I love this.

I think the same, glad it comes across well!

Hm, dunno about that TBH. It looks kinda like what you get when you forget to turn on smoothing for curved surfaces (I.e., very artificial-looking). But maybe it’s just that it hasn’t been textured yet…?

I do intend to texture it, and I have an idea of what I want. I do want to redo the modeling though, I'd rather get the paneling effect from textures, I think it will look better.

In the meantime, the engineering hull panel lines are done:
