In the meantime, the engineering hull panel lines are done:

I could see the gangway on that flat area on the secondary hulls flank. Layered doors.

Really well done nacelle pylons and insert points on the engineering hull. :mallory::techman:
Oh NOICE. I had never noticed before how you were integrating the pylon/hull interface. I love how it’s both streamlined and blocky at the same time — a nice mixture of the old and the new :bolian:
Thanks! I do think it turned out well. I also finished the detail on the underside and the thrusters:

I started on the windows, first by planning the decks. You'll notice some of the decks are different heights. I gave the saucer larger decks since that's where the living areas are, and engineering the smallest to make room for equipment. The neck is the highest since most of it is piping, cables, turbo lift shaft, and stairs. And that doesn't mean every room has the same height either, I figure decks don't all have to align perfectly. Think: split level house.

I also put bare bones interiors inside.

Getting carried away with interior planning. You can see the major machinery and piping, as well as the deck plans for the neck. I do want to do complete deck plans, but I'll consider this model done once I finish the windows and textures. Everything else is extra credit.

Holy shit......

It’s the only way to fly! 3-D interiors with actual furniture, lighting fixtures, etc. can’t be beat for lending a model that little extra bit of verisimilitude. Even if you can’t make out what you’re looking at, the parallax effect gives the viewer that subconscious little tickle as the interiors—briefly-glimpsed through the portholes—fly by the camera.

Plus, it’s just effin’ fun to build out some of the interiors. :ouch:

Can't wait to see the texturing going on, even with just the flat materials this is looking stunning. I especially love how so many of the changes are ones that, if Matt Jefferies saw them on the shooting model, he would probably have gone "oh yeah, if you were really building this ship it would make sense to do that..."

I love this. I've never been keen on the idea of the warp core being this tiny piece of machinery stashed away in a corridor junction; it should be a huge piece of machinery filling the hull, or else why even have a secondary hull in the first place rather than just a bigger saucer? The closest we see to this is the TMP Enterprise's warp core, but this is even more along those lines. It immediately explains why the Enterprise is the shape it is, and helps convey that the ship has real power.
