OK now you HAVE to publish a video of the lifeboat blowing away from the saucer.

    Ya just have to.

I am in fact alive, against all odds! I only work on this a few hours a month haha

Some more work on the saucer:

    I said it’s, not he’s.

    ;)

Interesting geometry change in the concentric rings surrounding the lower sensor dome array. I never really figured out whether Jefferies had something specific in mind for those things—whether they had any purpose on the TOS Enterprise or they were nothing more than surface details that added some visual interest. Anything you could share on what’s going on with your interpretation?

    That's what I meant lol:beer:

I intend the rings to be sensor equipment. When I do the refit, the rings on the outer part of the saucer will essentially have the same purpose.

I can see see it as an afterburner…petals opening and the glow brightening at higher speeds….spinning faster and faster.

During turns, both nacelles spin top-towards the turn…

Nice and glowy! Don't overthink the technical but just go for the "oeh!" factor.. ;)

Love it. The gentle glow we see here gives you plenty of bandwidth to either up the intensity for high speeds or let you have blooming randomized pinpricks of brightness with the gentler glow as a background. No matter which way you go (or why choose — do both!), this is just lovely.

Imaging the nacelles spinning downward on the pylons when it lands haha!

I will be adding a feint plasma effect as well as some flashing spots almost like electrical discharges later!

For now, I revamped a little bit, this is closer to what I wanted:
