Ha, the irony is not lost on me. Chalk it up to the ole mantra "life ain't fair" I suppose...along with the other points you mentioned.

Memorial Day Weekend is over and the movie that kicked off the season found itself in 6th place with $10m for a 24 day total of $165.3m.

Wolverine has maybe 2 more weeks in the top 10 to earn its way closer to $200m, which it will not reach but get as close as it can.

After the weekend Wolverine is up to $170 million and currently still holds the title of 3rd largest grosser of 2009. Placing at #8 this week its got possibly one more week in the top 10. Not bad for a movie in its 5th week that so many seemed determined to hate. It's worldwide figure is at $315 million.

I think it'll leave theaters with $180-185 million, certainly not bad, but not great, even considering the X-Men franchise. It's doing a lot better than Terminator Salvation, that's for sure.

Well Wolverine has completed its 6th weekend at the US box office and slipped one place out of the top 10 for the first time. Landing in 11th place with $1.9million its domestic total is now $174.5million. With a Worldwide total currently at $350 million.

Not that I think Terminator Salvation is super great but I do think its a good film and at least as good, if not better(imo it is), than Wolverine and its going to end with respectable numbers.

Its a sure lock for finishing its run in the mid $180's. I predicted $190 in the BOM forums but I think thats a reach now. Unless Fox pulls a SReturns with Wolverine's run.

Wolverine like X3 is a hit mostly due to people that have never openned a Wolvie/X-Men comic and are getting to know these characters solely based on the film. Seeing how they don't know any better, this is their only exposure to the character and his past. So they really don't know what's wrong with the film as many of us that have read these stories do.

However, I find myself asking this one question: If a lack luster Wolverine film can make this much money back, why the hell did Daredevil flop?

Media over-saturation of "Bennifer" with people jumping on the hatred bandwagon and not being able to distinguish the difference between an actor's personal life and his ability as an actor.

Also, the movie actually isn't very good and came off as a cheap rip-off of Spider-Man.

That's not really fair to condem those movies just because they didn't go the route that the comic books did. Just like different comic book writers would take the characters different routes, the movie folks are taking the characters the route that they see fit. It works for me. I mean, I can easily imagine that Wolverine didn't become an "animal" until after he lost his memories. For movies are based on concepts that have been adapted and readapted over and over again over the year, I think it's best that they are judged on their own merits and not on a comparrision to the other interpretations of the characters.
