It's not ignoring them.I think a lot of people are still hesitant about "First Class" because of "The Last Stand" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" luckily this movie is ignoring both and seems to be focusing on Singer's previous two films as the basis of continuity so that's good.

It's just not addressing events that the characters at this point have no knowledge of. Besides, the movie has plenty to cover without vague references just for the sake of the audience.

So apparently Xavier started out with a mostly Scottish accent and Magneto with some vague Mid-Atlantic accent, yet forty years later they both had accents right out of the Royal Shakespeare Company? It's some sort of mutant power!
I suspect the performances here are going to win out regardless of if the accents match or what ever music they use.
