X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

ObiWanShinobi and OdoWanKenobi Do you realize how similar your names are? I thought someone was talking to oneself and having a disagreement!

:)

ETA: I just saw a few comments in another thread calling us all 'Fassbender Groupies in the X-Men Thread'. Do you think that is true?

What thread was that? The fact is Fassbender is probably going to steal this movie and was a terrific choice for Erik Lensherr.

The focus on Fassbender in the trailers might be a result of his character having some of the more kickass action scenes. I don't think you'll see Professor Xavier pulling a sub out of the ocean.

Fully aware. Our join date is the same too. What a coinky dink!

Very aware. I've seen people talking to him and thought they were talking to me for a moment. Just remember that I'm much cooler.;)

KB24 I applaud yours and Jackson Archer's energetic support of this movie! I know we started off rocky (Patience is a virtue my young Padawan! ;) ) but I've become more and more excited for this film. It's starting to take over "Green Lantern" as my most anticipated comic book film. I'm stoked for the score. I'm eager to see a release date and a track listing.
I don't think Green Lantern is going to hold a candle next to this film. Between Thor, Capt. America & X-Men, I'm pretty sure Marvel & Harry Potter are going to rule the summer.

How dare you. There can be only Wan!
You'll always be number wan in my book.

The article mentions the Beatles as being the closest thing to a boy band at the time in which First Class is set, while forgetting that the Cuban Missile Crisis happened before Beatlemania. :p

The Beatle fan in me goes :scream: as such a suggestion. Being a band composed of males does not make a group a boy band. Nor does being popular. (even with teenage girl) Again The Beatles are not even in the same zipcode as a boy band. :scream:

You may now return to dissussing the X-men.

I don't care what they use in the movie music wise personally. I'm just curious about the soundtrack now. Actually...I'm wrong about this being the first film to have a soundtrack "X-Men" had one. I have it :) Can't believe I forgot.

I'd like a few staples of the time to be scattered throughout the film, but I hope it isn't dominated by an anachronistic score. You know, some classic Drifters in a club or something. Some original epic music might be just as nice.

I don't know where I saw the groupie comment. I had a lot of threads open, and it might have been the same person saying it in more than one place, or I read the same thing twice. I must say, as a critic by profession I try not to be a groupie, and in reviews of Fass films, I've expressly separated the gush from the criticism. He's in Jonah Hex, let's call a spade a spade. ;)

i do these online survey things for a few quid a go and i had one today on XM:FC!

it started off asking me about various actors in the summer movies this year (mcavoy, hoult, fassbender, lawrence, byrne, labeof, bradley cooper, jolie, jack black and various others) and whether i go see movies particularly because of them or not and then was asking me if i was going to see these various summer movies (KFP2, Pirates 4, XMFC, Transformers 3, Hangover 2 etc.) and then it went into asking me about XM:FC and i had to watch a trailer and comment on it.

of course, i was saying i'm totally going to see it, it looks awesome, i've seen and enjoyed the previous 4 (yes, i even liked Wolverine) and that this looks like it's going to be a great film...

i like that French poster. interested to see the Japanese one. Japanese posters are always interesting.
