I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that anyone here was upset by it. I just meant that you see stuff like that alot, in comics, movie, tv, ect. so it's nothing unusual.^I'm not upset. In fact, what I in fact originally said was that I found it 'a little bit silly.' But apparently this means I "don't get diversity." Now, that does annoy me.
Of course, the rest of you who've also agreed that you think a male character having a name which means "Woman of the Fairy Mound'' is odd are apparently also guilty of it.
i'm more interested in the score as well. i'm a big movie score nerd. How did we get to nitpicking code names? Anyways the UK has a soundtrack release coming on June 6. Nothing's been announced for anywhere else and no score news yet. I'll be passing on the soundtrack. More interested in the score.

If anything, Americanizing the characters will probably help the movie move away from absurdity if you consider the time period of the film and that it appears that they are, in some part, working for the US Gov't.
Meh.
In 1962, the threat of communism was world wide, and the United Nations had already been a major player in the Korean War. Communist expansionism threatened Europe and Asia directly, as well as the United States.
A little preaching of multilateralism is appropriate for today. It would also have been appropriate in 1962, since if people had thought more in those terms then, it might have spared the United States from the quagmire of Vietnam.
We'll see soon enough how much it helps or hurts the film.
Banshee's not Irish? Well, that's it. I'm going to boycott the film.

You won't miss this film even if it turns out that Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer are running a slave ring from their back gardens.
^ thanks. and yet you both feel the need to revive it ...
